Tough because you want that alpha receiver who can compete and win at the boundary yet so many of them are divas and head cases.

 

Joe Marino said it best when describing Cooper as the anti-receiver... a baller at the boundary without all the drama.

At the time it was common sense to trade for a proven receiver. Now I look at it differently

I also don't know if we would have taken Jefferson.  LSU used him in the slot a lot and thought it wasn't really true, I remember a lot of people viewed him as a slot receiver and we had Beasley.  Also there are a lot of misses on first round receiver picks (look at what the Patriots have done) and so it made sense to get a known commodity for a QB who was learning the position.

Before this game: I thought Rodgers had shown enough in the 2nd half of the season that combined with the lack of good options, the Jets should stick with him in 2025 and hope they can get lucky and put together a playoff drought-ending season. 
 

After his game: Rodgers is toast. Am I the only one out there who thinks that if the Jets had started Tyrod they would have made this a game?

Everytime I think of drafting receivers and missing I think of Limas Sweed, thought he was going to be something.

Tyrod played against the second string defense down 40 points.   He may have kept it within two scores but I dont think this was ever going to be a game.   The Jets organization is toast.

Obviously can't know, however I wouldn't feel all that confident that would make much difference the way the coaching was handled
