Bengals, Dolphins, Broncos -Who do you want to see as the 7th seed?

A lot broke against the Broncos yesterday, leaving the door open for the Bengals, Dolphins and Colts. 

 

I am thinking the Chiefs are going to rest everyone next week, and let the Broncos win to keep the Bengals out of the playoffs. But if the Chiefs beat the Broncos.  I think the Colts control their destiny.  If Broncos, Colts, Bengals and Dolphins all finish 9-8 then I think the Colts come in as the seventh seed. 

I would rather play the Colts than the Bengals or Dolphins.   So I am a Colts and Browns fan today.

In this order what I would prefer:

1. Colts 

2. Broncos 

3. Dolphins 

4. Bengals 

 

I would be very confident in 1-3. #4 would be a shootout and anyone’s game in the end. Fortunately #4 is the least likely scenario

When we played the Colts earlier this year. Did Taylor play?  I'm too lazy to look it up

Broncos - McD is good against rookie QBs

Bengals - They've lost as many games as they have for a reason

Colts - If Taylor is on he's great, he'll be hard to stop

Dolphins - They're due to beat us

He had 21 carries for 114 yards with a long of 58 yards.

In that order. I put the Bengals above the Broncos  because over the course of the year, Denver has had a good defense and the Bengals have been bad on defense. Defense travels well in playoff games. I think we beat any of the 4, though.

30-50 mph winds forecasted in Cleveland today, expect something like a 6-3 thriller in a battle of backup QBs. 

 

I don't think the Colts are very good but they have the easiest path on paper (NYG, JAX)

Indy is the easiest PO opponent possible. If we worry about random above average RB running on us, then we won't win SB anyway.

Very close between Denver and Indy. I chose Denver because I like our chances against a rookie QB in Buffalo, versus Jonathan Taylor in a possible bad weather game. Denver's defense is better but I don't worry about good defenses beating us, I worry about good offenses beating us.

 

Miami and Cincy both offer the same problem which is that they can drag you into a shootout and I don't trust our defense or our coaching in that scenario. So I really want to avoid them.

I don't want to make it 3-0! Could you imagine having to go through the Bengals, Ravens, Chiefs just to get out of the AFC? Ain't no way

I’d go with Broncos and rookie QB first. Colts would be 2nd choice. Bengals seem like they would be dangerous and Miami would be a tough game no matter what. If we get knocked out of playoffs it would be a bad offseason but if we got knocked out by Dolphins somehow it would be extra awful.

my sense is any of them will put up a good fight,

 

the game will be super competitive

 

and Josh puts on the cape in the 4th Qtr and no 7th seed is beating that at the Ralph

It’s gonna be the Broncos.  Chiefs are benching their starters next week, so unless they pull a Bills vs Steelers in ‘04 performance,  I don’t see them losing next week.
