I dunno - I'm personally tired of being so terrified of Cincinnati, a team that has looked unimpressive the entire year.

If Allen goes through Burrow, Jackson & Mahomes - he is undisputed king of the AFC.

Most likely scenario….Denver beats KC’s backups and clinch the 7th.

Second most likely……Denver loses to KC and the Colts win tomorrow against the Giants then at home against the Jaguars to clinch 7th.

Third most likely…..Denver loses to KC, the Colts drop a game, and the Fish beat the Browns and Jets to clinch the 7th spot.

4th most likely…..Denver loses to KC, the Colts and Fish drop 1 and the Bengals beat the Steelers to clinch the 7th.

I think as it stands Cincinnati has something like a 11% chance to make the playoffs.   Their win boosted them an extra 5%

You play whoever is on the schedule.  If you’re Buffalo you can’t be like the fan base worry about potential opponents.

Also you have to be careful what you wish for because nothing is a sure thing in the playoffs.  There’s countless examples of this.

Just gotta let the chips fall where they may

I am not forgetting that game.  I think the chiefs are going to play it like any game since they have this unique time off this week and then two weeks to get ready for the playoffs.

i won’t be surprised to see kc play all their guys the whole game.

I wouldn’t put money on the jags winning but I would say if the jags know they can’t get the 1 seed maybe they go all out to knock out a divisional opponent .  Maybe they lay down to just get it over with also.  We just don’t know.

Did you see Burrow get sacked time after time today against the Broncos?

You really believe Andy Reid will trot Mahomes and his weak ankle out there against that in a meaningless game?

Steelers have alot of incentive to win next week too, if they lose and Chargers win, appears Chargers would get 5th seed and game at Houston, and Steelers go to Balt, or possibly Buffalo (if Bills lose last 2).  Chargers play at Vegas and Raiders would probably just as soon lose to get better draft pick.  If Denver won and Pitt loses, maybe even drop to 7th so Steeler's will want to win.

I would be shocked if the Broncos lose to the KC backups. I would say there is like an 85% chance we will be hosting the Broncos on Wild Card weekend, and like 10% chance we face the Colts instead.

Then I guess it will depend on how week 18 goes for whether we'd be looking at Texans, Ravens, Steelers or Chargers in round 2.

The most likely scenario IMO is all of those teams win next week (they should all be favored).

That would give:
DEN(7) at BUF(2)
LAC(6) at BAL(3)
PIT(5) at HOU(4)

In that case we'll be facing the Ravens, Texans or Steelers theoretically in round 2. If the Ravens win their Wild Card game we would face them no matter what. If the Ravens lost their Wild Card game, then we would face the winner of the Steelers vs Texans.

Seeds 3, 5, and 6 can still move around a bit.

If Baltimore loses and the Steelers win, Baltimore becomes 5 and the Steelers become 3.
If the Steelers lose and the Chargers win, Steelers become 6 and Chargers become 5.

1. Chiefs
2. Bills
3. Ravens
4. Texans
5. Chargers
6. Steelers
7. Colts

That’s going to be the AFC playoffs after the broncos lose next week to the chiefs backups and colts and bengals win out with colts having the tiebreaker

Honestly I hope the Steelers win against the bengals week 18 because I think the Jim Harbaugh led chargers as a 6 seed would beat the Ravens round 1 and then beat the chiefs round 2 now that Herbert and Dobbins are finally healthy. The winner of a Texans vs Steelers round 1 has no shot at beating the chiefs

Radical hypothetical: play the backups tomorrow and next week and maximize the rest for our starters. If we end up the 2 seed great, if we are the 3 maybe the WC works out better anyways.

Never would happen

I would be fine with this but McD would never do that. He plays checkers with missing pieces while Reid plays 4d chess come playoff season

Chris Jones has a calf injury, the easiest muscle to aggravate again.  It’s worth it to trot him out there in cold weather for a meaningless game?

The only thing that can happen next week is injuring a starter.  Nothing is gained by winning that game.

Denver is playing for their playoff lives so they are going to play hard….

My vote is for #2

I have to disagree. Our most likely divisional round opponent is the Ravens, and I would much rather face them here than in Baltimore.

As long as we beat the Jets and wrap up the two seed then we should fear nobody.

Any team coming to Buffalo for a wild card game against JA17 in career best form should be the ones soiling their undergarments - not the other way around!!

Please stop it with the sky is falling if Cinci get in talk, it is nauseating.

Cincy won’t get in and if they do I’m not scared of them at all.

Their defense sucks. The Bills offense is one of the best in the history of football. They will score every time on the Bengals defense.

Bills offense is only one of 5 teams to ever average over 3 points per drive.

Also I’m not sure how Indy could get in over Denver if they have the same record when Denver beat them head to head. Would have to be if there is a 3 way tie I imagine.

Stop…bengals have 11 percent chance as of right now

Exactly and what is sad they aren’t in - with 11% chance - and people feel they knock off the bills at 2 seed at home wildcard weekend sheesh

It’s kind of odd how quick this thread devolved into fear of the Bengals.  The Bengals defense is so weak, I’m not concerned, and they most likely won’t make the playoffs even with the win over Denver.

Well most likely face the Broncos or Chargers, then Baltimore and finally KC.

Still too many scenarios to put the Broncos in...Yes they are the favorites as they are in with a win...but it is the NFL and on any given Sunday.....   Go Bills !!!
