Literally nothing has gone our way for the past few weeks.  At this point, I expect the Bengals at home in wild card.

Which means we have to play the Bengals, Ravens, then Chiefs.

Literally anyone but Cinci.

They are the only team that I believe has a legitimate chance to beat us in the Wild Card round.

Burrow, Chase, Higgins, Brown & Hebert would be a nightmare for our defense to defend.

Most likely scenario….Denver beats KC’s backups and clinch the 7th.

Second most likely……Denver loses to KC and the Colts win tomorrow against the Giants then at home against the Jaguars to clinch 7th.

Third most likely…..Denver loses to KC, the Colts drop a game, and the Fish beat the Browns and Jets to clinch the 7th spot.

4th most likely…..Denver loses to KC, the Colts and Fish drop 1 and the Bengals beat the Steelers to clinch the 7th.

The need for Broncos over Cinci was highly overblown.

Why? I still don't think they will get in, but it would have been VERY nice to have that threat out of the way and done.

Even though you'd think at least ONE of the following should happen, it's very difficult to trust any of the 3 teams we are counting on:

1.  Denver over KC in Week 18 = Bengals are out

2. Indy beats Giants and Jaguars  = Bengals are out

3. Dolphins beat Browns and Jets = Bengals are out

All 3 look like they should happen on paper, but once again, I do not trust the Broncos, Colts or Dolphins one bit.  There is no reliability or consistency with any of these 3 teams.,

I am not panicking right now. For me, this could possibly be best case scenario. If Pitt finishes with 6th seed they go to Baltimore. I like the thought of either playing a banged up Baltimore team at home, or Houston. Most likely the Bills will see Denver. I like our chances against Nix. After watching him in college for years, guy if 25, he will flash but also do some silly things.

Yeah... that's not good at all. Seems we get cold feet any time we play weak defenses, so even then I don't expect the Bills will be able to score on the Bengals as much as everyone else.

Colts could lose to Jags.

Dolphins will beat the Browns and Jets

Even if KC doesn't play all of it's starters they will play some as I don'tthink they want to rest starters for two weeks with a long break between week 17 and 18.

11% chance of Bengals making playoffs, so, we need to relax.  Things will be more clear after tomorrow.  I'm writing off MIA with Tua out, but if INDY wins, I'm guessing the odds of CIN making playoffs is round 9%.  Stats would say DEN % of losing .50*IND Chance of losing .40* CIN chance of winning .45 = 9%

Yeah, I mean why would we score on the Bengals defense? It’s not like we tied a league record for scoring 30

points in consecutive weeks or have Josh Allen as our QB.

I can see a situation where the jags having no shot at the number 1 pick beat the colts in week 18 which means it would be up to the dolphins to win out to keep the bengals out.

the bengals have got to be pretty enthusiastic tonight about their chances.

You forgot an itty bitty game where the Broncos, at home, play the Chiefs backups. And the Jaguars aren’t beating Indy in Indy.

Tua being out I didn't catch that. This changes everything.

So it appears that no result tomorrow would eliminate the Bengals, correct?

I am not forgetting that game.  I think the chiefs are going to play it like any game since they have this unique time off this week and then two weeks to get ready for the playoffs.

i won’t be surprised to see kc play all their guys the whole game.

I wouldn’t put money on the jags winning but I would say if the jags know they can’t get the 1 seed maybe they go all out to knock out a divisional opponent .  Maybe they lay down to just get it over with also.  We just don’t know.

This may have been another insignificant bad AFC South team, but was it just last or the year before where this happened?

Update: Yep, two years ago lost week 18 to 2-14 Jags to miss playoffs
