Poor Rich Camarillo, I remember that game clearly. Of course, the wind giveth and taketh away in Buffalo. The following year in 1991 Shawn McCarthy of the Patriots had a 93 yard punt that I don't think will ever be replicated. It was the longest kick since the NFL-AFL merger lol

That game was the worst I was ever at. Getting hit in the face with wind driven ice pellets for a very long time. I had to cover my face with my hand. And because I got wet, and my hands got wet (through my gloves), I got very cold and stayed very cold. It was painful to be there by the end. I was also at the Jets and Raiders super cold games a couple years later and those were actually fine. Sunny day, dry. Very tolerable. That Arizona game? Awful.

Bills vs. Cardinals from the 1990 season.  I was pretty young and this was the first game I ever attended live. My aunt and uncle surprised me with game tickets that week.

According to the broadcast it was 40 degrees but it was very windy and we were sitting high in the 300’s.  We were absolutely freezing. Maybe it was because it was November and we weren’t dressed for the elements?  I remember it snowing a bit too though it doesn’t look like much accumulated on the field.

By halftime my feet were frozen and I was finding any excuse to get out of the wind into the corridor to warm up.   It didn’t work very well!

Anyway the Bills were rolling then.  Not much else to remember about this game other than a big Bills win and a backward punt from Rich Camarillo.

My aunt and uncle aren’t around anymore but this was a great memory to me.

I was there!

That Giants/Bills game was definitely awful. The wind and rain made it impossible to watch the game. It’s the only game my wife has ever been to-she made us leave at halftime. Only time I’ve ever left a game early. By the time we made it back to get parents House it was snowing so I was actually really happy we left

This game was particularly rough for me because it wasn't super cold that day so I wasn't dressed as warm as I should've been. As I recall the weather was maybe low 40s, but when the wind and rain kicked it it felt much colder than that. I remember my college buddy bought one of those cheap ponchos on the walk into the stadium, which are basically a trash bag. He was absolutely soaked and freezing by halftime.

In order to warm up during halftime I followed a caterer into a climate controlled area at halftime, only to get booted out when they saw me hanging in the corner, shivering, clearly not belonging in such a warm, pristine environment, lol. Stayed to the end, but that was the last time I came to a game so I'll prepared for the elements.

The Bills actually got out to a lead that game and the Giants kicked the Bills doors in and won that game to go to 8-7 and needed a win the following week just to get into the playoffs. 4 wins later and they were holding up the Lombardi.

Didn’t it seem a lot colder than 40 degrees?

It's because we were all soaking wet and I think it was one of those 40 at kickoff 35 by games end sorts of things.

The common thread for the things people are calling the worst are the ones where you get wet and stay wet. Dry cold is easy to deal with. Snow isn't a problem, you brush it off. Rain sucks a lot. Rain gear makes you sweat so you're wet from the inside. If you don't  wear it you just get wet from the outside. Once you're wet there's no way to get dry. It's just miserable.

Was this the Dennis Byrd game?

He's thinking of 93 Jets and no that wasn't that game.

Re cold weather games in general. My season tickets used to intentionally be on the sunny side. Even in the coldest days it was pretty toasty over there, so long as it was dry.  Heat management was actually a bigger problem most of the time, had to unzip from time to time to vent out the excess warmth. Rain games are 100 percent the worst and rain in the high 30s or low 40s is the worst of the worst. It's better 15 degrees colder than 40 and raining.

I actually prefer the -30 game to the 38 and raining. The Raider game was cold but I was bundled and down in lower bowl, which was not so bad. I do remember rainy games being in the upper deck and being miserable.

Jets "92"

Wasnt that the game where temp dropped to -16 with -36 wind chill... Pat Leahy went to kick 35 yarder but gust of wind took the ball sideways and it hit the wall just below the stands?  I remeber wearing like 6 layers but couldnt keep my feet warm... only way to dethaw was to go to bathrooms which were heated but urine stenched...

93 and it wasn't Leahy. It was Cary Blanchard. He missed 3 FGs that day including a 42 yarder with under a minute to play that hooked really badly.

Hmm....don't think I've ever been at any really terrible weather games. I mean I have been at some games where it has been cold and I didn't have any heat packs for my shoes or gloves and my feet were so cold from the concrete that I almost couldn't even enjoy the game and kept thinking about how I couldn't wait to get my feet warm...

Heat packs make a world of difference...keep you warm even in the coldest conditions.

Thanks... couldnt remember kicker. Bennet stopped 2 swing passes one on one for losses to force the kick.

Weird commonality between two of the worst weather games is that Johnny Johnson was the opposing running back for two different teams.

That horrid Phoenix game in 1990 and then the cold Jets game in 1993.

1974 Colts at Bills.  There was a snow squall during the game and wind that made it miserable, except my buddy’s Dad set him up with a wine skin with homemade hard cider. It was more like whisky. We were 15 and he got shltfaced.  My Dad was just wearing a dress overcoat and was freezing the whole time. Bills won 6-0.

There was a 2001(?) final home game against the Pats that started in the 50s that morning but ended up a blizzard in the second half. It was surreal and went to OT. Bills lost with Flutie as QB.

Finally, the “original” wind game against the Pats in mid 2000s. The wind blew over a Bills souvenir trailer in the parking lot and they had to re-level the goalposts during the game.

Not sure how I would rank these so mine is in no official order but these are definitely the Top 4

2007- Giants at Bills Freezing rain game

2007   Bills at Browns  Whiteout Game

2021   Patriots at Bills MNF Wind Game

2021   Patriots at Bills  Sub Below Temperature

Was thinking about this topic earlier from some discussion I saw on Twitter and after careful thought these would be my Top 4 but then I thought about how it was interesting how each pair came from the same season and relatively close to each other.  The Giants and Browns games were back to back weeks.

This friggin game…

I rode on a party bus for 3 1/2 hours each way, split with a 50/50 mix of Bills and Giants fans who I had known for years (maybe 16 of us total). This was going to be my first game I had ever been to in person. On top of that, my buddy had a little sister who he was trying to get to date me at the time, and she was coming with us so I was looking VERY forward to the trip. Little did I know he had been drinking excessively the night before.

I should also add I was 21, and my group of degenerates decided we were gonna take shots at 6am to really kick things off. We knew we were going to tailgate hard, but figured we would just get after it. We start boozing, and 45 mins into the trip my buddy gets off the bus to puke, says he can’t go any further and is gonna get a ride back. His sister leaves with him. Bummer.

We get to the Ralph and I remember it was cloudy but actually not as cold as I expected (lol). I was in a jersey and hoodie and was comfortable enough… or intoxicated enough. The thing about me is that I knew how to pace myself, whereas not all of my friends did. We were getting after it, having a great time, and then the parade of tragedy continued on…

Another friend of mine got so drunk that he couldn’t even stand up straight while he was at the gate. Do you know how drunk you have to be for security to not let you into a game in 2007? I do, because my friend was not even able to get inside the stadium. We walked him back to the bus and he slept it off the entire rest of the day.

We get in and I remember how cool it was to be at the Ralph for the first time. I kept thinking “it’s way too weird for it to be almost Christmas and not having any bad weather. We go get a touchdown- woohoo! I didn’t expect us to be able to get after it right away. Then touchdown #2 comes. 14-0 first quarter… then the clouds go black. I legit said “I knew this was too good to be true…”

Then the rain starts falling, but not straight down- it was at like a 45* angle, stabbing us in the face. Then the giants go on a tear to get to 14-17 by halftime. Every inch of my body is soaked, we are now getting curb stomped, and then the snow starts to fall.

i have become a human Popsicle.

2 more of my friends left, apparently to hook up on the bus while the other guy was passed out drunk. Had my day gone better maybe that could have been me, but alas, life is unfair. That girl scored more in the second half than the Bills did - it was 21-31 and the Bills throw a pick-6 to seal their fate. Giants survive and go to the playoffs. Not sure how that ended for them…

TLDR; I was soaking wet, then frozen, watched the Bills do Billsy things to lose, and had to ride home for 3 1/2 hours listening to drunk Giants fans dunk on me.

My worst as well. I lost feeling in my right foot in the 4th Q and it didn’t come back until I got to the car parked almost a mile away, and then it burned so bad that I wanted it to go numb again (didn’t get frostbite, fortunately, but did suffer a bit of nerve damage that took a few years to completely heal). Our hot cocoa and rumplemintz poured from a hot thermos into a styrofoam cup turned into slushies in minutes. Cary Blanchard missed 3 FGs, and every kick that day left the kicker’s foot with a resounding hollow thud. It sounded excruciating.

Bills patriots WC game

Bills patriots last Sunday

Bills colts snow game during the drought

Bills eagles from a few years back.

These are in no particular order.  I've had season tickets for 18 years and gave only missed 5 or six games so I'm sure there are others I can't remember.  Lots of good memories in this thread.
