NoName Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago With Joe Brady setting himself up for a possible HC gig, it has gotten me wondering. Who has been the best at the OC role and DC role since the Super Bowl days? Quote
SoonerBillsFan Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago OC: Brady DC: Wade Phillips and Jim Schwartz 2 8 Quote
NoName Posted 16 hours ago Author Posted 16 hours ago OC: Brady. His focus on the run games gives him a slight edge over Daboll. DC: Ted Cotrell. Those late 90s Bills D were the best in the league. 2 3 Quote
HereComesTheReignAgain Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago OC: Brian Daboll DC: Ted Cotrell or Jim Schwartz Quote
GunnerBill Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Of my time as a fan (which is 2002, so a couple of years into the drought) the DC is between Schwartz and Frazier. It's Schwartz single year of elite vs 6 years of consistent high performance under Leslie. As for OC trickier. Daboll and Brady have produced really consistent offenses with Josh. I'd give a shout for Greg Roman too. 13th in yards and 11th in points with Tyrod Taylor at Quarterback was a fair coaching effort. 1 Quote
QB Bills Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Even though he was the head coach, Chan Gailey was the de facto OC here and after seeing how much he was able to get out of baby hands Fitz, I wonder what he could do with a talent like Josh. DC would be Schwarz. 1 1 Quote
BillsFan130 Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago OC: Between Daboll and Joe Brady, so hard to say. Would have said Daboll a month ago, but Joe Brady is impressing me more lately DC: Jimmy Schwartz Quote
frostbitmic Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago OC - Brady ... The Offense right now is as good as we've seen. How many games of 30+ points did we see ? DC - Schwartz ... They were an aggressive Defense, you knew they'd be disruptive and they were. 1 Quote
eball Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago For OC I think you have to say Brady...the offense is putting up numbers that are in rare air...but I sure would have liked to see what Chan Gailey could do with this personnel. For DC Wade Phillips was fantastic. Ted Cottrell is underrated but I often wonder if his success was a function of the personnel he had to work with. Frazier is downgraded in my mind because of the playoff failures. 2 1 Quote
peterpan Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Bring back Jim Schwartz. Seems like many fans think he was great, I bet he’d come back with Allen at qb and the D being the reason we aren’t SB champs 1 Quote

17islongenough Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Guys Brady is terrible. He has to stay in Buffalo for a few years to make sure he is ready. 4 Quote

Brady is giving him a run for his money with this recent streak, but the offense was just effortless with Daboll most of the time. 1 1 Quote

Cottrell was Wade's DC, so I think the '99 Bills defense had a two headed brain trust. If not for the special teams blunder in Nashville, I really think they could have gone to the SB, and might have even won it. That was a great defense 2 Quote
