Will the Jets and the Patriots be tanking the last two games?

We are concerned about who we should sit or play the last two games, but what will be the mindset for the Jets and the Pats?  Will they be tanking for better draft positions?

Pats won't tank - but I'd almost want to see them win as long as we beat the Jets.  That #2 spot in the draft could help them build for the future if they make a good trade.

Jets for sure. I don’t think the Pats do. They are trying to build something and there are people who seem to be down on Mayo as HC. So he still has something to prove. Jets need a lobotomy.

According to the NE media Mayo is trying to finish the year strong.  While he’s likely safe, he wants to show the Krafts that he’s the right guy to lead because it’s probably been the biggest talking point about the team in the media. 
 

The Jets?  I don’t think they’ll be tanking but it’s tough to see them get fired up about this game.  I’m sure they’ll say the same BS that the Bills coaches/players did during the drought.  They’ll want to put good performances on tape, play for each other, play for pride etc.  

 

The thing about the Jets if they’ve had so many opportunities to play for SOMETHING and they failed at every one.   It will be hard to see them get up for a game that means next to nothing.

Rodgers will be giving whatever he has to have a chance to play next year. Week 18 the Pats will want to throw the game because they can land Hunter at 3.  The Bills should tank week 18 to keep hunter out of the division.

Rodgers will play his heart out to try and convince the Jests ownership to fork over another 50 million next season.

 

I don't expect the patriots to roll over and they'll be playing our backups.

I don’t think they’ll tank but I can’t see them playing motivated.  The one guy who’ll want a win is Jeff Ulbrich who is basically a joke of a HC at this time.  I’m sure he’d love to put a win va Buffalo on his resume while he’s searching for jobs

He's on a team that had more production under Zack Wilson and managed to get his HC and GM fired.  He could go 40/40 with 600 yards and 10 tds and no one would want to touch a 42 yr old with an inferiority complex.

 

Well, maybe Jerry Jones would.

Why would the Jets tank?   How is a higher draft choice going to help anyone on the coaching staff or front office?  None of them will be there next season.

Maybe Rodgers might want them to be able to draft a better QB next season ?

The Jets could be in tank mode but if they were the owner would be taking decisions to sit guys. I'm not sure they are at that point so they are not tanking. New England is trying to build some momentum into the offseason. They will definitely be trying.

It was widely reported that Woody Johnson ordered the benching of Tony Adams earlier in the season, so Johnson has made playing time decisions before.  However, if I were Ulbrich I would tell Johnson FU if he ordered me to tank.  I don't think Woody Johnson has enough respect around the league to blacklist coaches.

teams tank when they feel they need a QB. Pats drsfted one so they aren’t focused on tanking.

 

Jets on the other hand could look at drafting a QB

Assuming we win Sunday.  4 losses clinches the 2 seed, 5 means we lose the tie breaker with the Dirty Birds, as they have the Browns week 18.
