Unbelievable. They needed a little more than 7 yards to make it a 50 yd FG try, but the point remains the same. Just an awful series of play calls when you have a rookie QB who can't compute what he's seeing on defense yet. Some quick short passes or a run would have given them at least a shot. Why did they call that 2nd time out? Just a total clown show by the lake. Edited yesterday at 04:00 AM by PromoTheRobot 1 1 Quote

In his defense, his unit did just hold the other team to 6 points. Not much more they can do (other than score a defensive TD I guess). Quote

He's a rookie, possibly playing in a bad system. He’s athletic and has a great arm, sure. But his processing and decision making is horrendous tonight. He has no clue where to go with the football. By the end of season 1, the light begins to turn on for rookie QB‘S. Tonight was just brutal. Compare this his performance to Drake Maye last week who had less talent around him and a decent (at best) OC in AVP. No saying that Williams can’t be fixed but he seems to be a broken QB, and it’s going to take a great offensive mind to get him back on track. He is a putrid QB right now Edited yesterday at 04:06 AM by JohnNord 2 1 Quote

Everything about that drive was a mess between the running of the play clock, the waste of time outs, the play calls, and of course the QB play. Why wouldn’t you just try the 57 yard FG? Considering how the game played out, it’s probably a safer bet than converting 4th and 10 Edited yesterday at 04:34 AM by JohnNord 2 Quote

He is a putrid QB right now He lost his OC and Head coach halfway through his rookie season and is playing behind one of the worst offensive lines I've ever seen. I predicted this kid to be a total bust, but he's actually outperforming my expectations so far. The game can't slow down for you as a rookie if the defense blitzes all game, your line doesn't pick it up, your RBs don't chip, and your OC doesn't help scheme the pressure off. The bears organization is failing this kid. I watched one of the RBs actually step out of the way of the blitzing Lbs he could run up field. It's insane. Quote

Speaking of which, counter to the general move of stadiums back towards city centers, the Bears are going to build their new stadium in suburban Arlington Park. To me it seems very wrong to move the Bears stadium out of downtown Chicago. Quote

You'd have to think with the raw talent Williams has that Ben Johnson would take the head coaching job there. 1 Quote

Sure that’s part of the problem but at the same time, it’s not like his coach as OC were highly effective. They were horrendous. So is it that big of a loss? The fact that Williams hasn’t shown much progress and instead has regressed should be a big concern. I do think he’s better than what he’s put on tape but it’s going to take a lot of time, effort, and strategy to coach him up. 1 minute ago, Doc Brown said: You'd have to think with the raw talent Williams has that Ben Johnson would take the head coaching job there. MrEpsYtown Posted yesterday at 04:18 AM Posted yesterday at 04:18 AM Don’t draft right tackles in the first round! Anyway they have tried to build the O line but have struck out with the players they chose. Have to keep trying, just find a top left tackle at the top of the draft and don’t waste your time on Rts and guards. Bears need a hard reset. Quote

They should just sign Cam Robinson or Ronnie Stanley in free agency this year. They have a QB and #1 WR on rookie contracts, now would be the time for that sort of thing. 1 Quote
