Bears 666th loss, all time

all time ?

Would have thought the Packers would have beaten them that often

The last comment got me thinking.  "Ain't getting that on netflix!"

Remember the time back in the 90's when WWF and WCW were fighting for tv spots/ratings and started doing the most ridiculous things on air?

Feel like that pot might be starting to boil.

Caleb Williams looks as lost as you get.

Could not figure out the blitz all night

I wish the post game team would have given Fitz a little more airtime and encouraged him to talk about what he sees.  Because Fitz was a young QB in the NFL who was smart but didn’t know where his answers were, once upon a time.  AFter being in the NFL a couple years, Josh Allen admitted as a rookie “it embarrasses me now to recognize how little I understood about our protections then”.  I think Fitz saw some stuff and could have given some good insight into what’s probably going on in Williams head and what he likely needs to be given, as far as learning his answers.

Fans on social media love to gang up on young QBs with the bust memes, but history has shown it's incredibly difficult for these QB's to develop with sub-par coaching. Look no further than across the field at Geno Smith. Imagine trying to break into this league with Rex freaking Ryan as your coach? Williams was in a tough situation with Matt Eberflus.

I got a Prime trial I was offered for $1.99 to watch that game.

Not sure I got my money's worth.

I see flashes from Caleb Williams.  They got to get him some decent coaching and OC though.

I tuned in for the last 5 minutes or so.  Inept is one word I could use to describe what is left of the Bears coaching staff.  I swear they were told "don't win this game or else".  Unbelievably bad.

He does hold the ball too long, but by god that OL was atrocious.

I watch it on twitch.tv . That usually has videos of people gaming but at 8PM Thursday it has the TNF game. Never goes down.   The .tv is Tuvalu which is i the Pacific, so it's not from the US. Even for freest wasn't worth it.

He played that last drive horribly. They were in range for a 57 yards FG I think and threw the ball 3 straight times, long passes and not high percentage throws. If he completes two 4 yard passes there, they are likely able to at least tie it.

He’s talented, but his game awareness is poor right now. You would think after the Detroit game, that would be a point of emphasis. I’m not sure if that’s coaching or Caleb. Either way, it’s concerning

I only watched the second half but Caleb Williams seems to have not progressed this year since week 3. He might simply need good coaching but at the end of his first year Josh was much better than at beginning, as are most QBs that become good

Possibly reading too much into it - but it looked like Caleb was questioning play calls in the huddle and an OL was correcting him.

He has an accurate cannon if he ever gets protection - but when it breaks down, he has no awareness.

But is that Williams, or is that the design of the called play?

Allen did the same kind of things his first years in the league.  I have archived posts suggesting that Devin Singletary be equipped with an orange fiberglass pole topped with a flag, like the Syracuse fire hydrants, so that Allen could better find him for a checkdown that could gain 10 yds.

Ugh I sat through that monstrosity at the Ralph.

Right there with you.  You'll always be able to say I was at the most boring game in NFL history at least.  Better than some random 17-7 game or something like that.

Sexy Rexy got to back to back AFCC games with a young/rookie QB named Dirty Sanchez.

I don't think he was Gino's problem.....

Anyway, the knock on Williams was that he is a bit soft and not a crisp decision maker coming out of college--there's no way he should have taken 67 (and counting) sacks this season.   I get that he had to come out when he did (the obvious #1 pick before that draft), but he really needed more games under his belt.   Look at Bo Nix--61 starts in college, now playing calm pretty smart football (Obv, Payton helps) and they have 9 wins for the first time in 8 years.   Jaden Daniels played 55 games--he's doing just fine in his rookie year.  Penix was in college longer than Senator Bluto Blutarski (47 starts)--he'll be fine.  Then there are guys like Richardson (almost nonexistent career as a college passing QB)---a total bust.

Ho many top QB picks have walked into a stacked Offenses like William's in Chicago?  Might as well call Pete Carroll right now.  Ben Johnson isn't interested.
