By the way, Jackie Kemp was the Chargers QB before we stole him from waivers. By the way, so was Paul McQuire..BTW So much great history, BTW, the winning share for players under $3K! Great post as always by Chandler81! 1 Quote

Old Coot Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 Great game. I was there. It was a time when men were men and QBs were scared. 1 Quote

That game was the first time I had seen a color TV outside of a store. My uncle who worked at Chevy, had bought a color TV and invited everyone over to watch the game. It was televised in Black and White on ABC. NBC took over broadcasting AFL in 1965, they were the first and for a while the only Network to broadcast in color. By 1966 all three networks broadcast in color. 1 1 Quote

It as far back as I can remember watching them. I still have some AFL football cards packed away somewhere. No fair comparing kickers from the ‘60’s to modern kickers. I think he was the first "soccer style" kicker. He was one of the original players to jump ship into the other league. Starting an impending free agent war that owners in both leagues wanted to avoid. 16 hours ago, Chandler#81 said: Really? By the way, have you heard it’s the 60th Anniversary of our 1st League title? By the way, so was Paul McQuire..BTW Kemp and McGuire were both important figures in the community for many years to come. By the late 60's the AFL was the better league. We will never see anything like that again, and the Buffalo Bills were a big part of it. Thanks Ralph for giving Buffalo a shot, and sticking with us. 1 2 Quote
