TheBrownBear Posted Tuesday at 08:35 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:35 PM Too slight. Can't break tackles. Drops easy touchdown passes. 😁 1 1 Quote
TheyCallMeAndy Posted Tuesday at 08:42 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:42 PM When drafted, we all thought he’d be a decent RB but a great pass catcher. Turns out he’s a decent pass catcher, but a great RB. No shot we can afford his second contract, but man James Cook is fun. 1 Quote

I love our WRs. I’m not asking for anyone to get hurt that’s a bizarre concept. If you were attempting to discredit the importance of Cook I just wasn’t going to co-sign. The offense runs through 17/4. It has from the minute Brady took over. He is one of the elite difference makers in the league. Normally I’d say RBs are a dime a dozen (we do have 3 good ones) But this offense runs through the RBs. And Cook is a big time playmaker. I wouldn’t want to lose him for a second. PoundingDog Posted Tuesday at 10:18 PM Posted Tuesday at 10:18 PM Maybe it depends on the offense system as well. Brady is from Sean Peyton’s offensive tree and Cook is exactly the kind of back fitting into that offensive philosophy. Mind you Ty and Ray are too. But Dorsey and even Daboll may be more WR centered. Heck Daboll found Barkley is not worth keeping. Quote

Cook is not that kind of player but he is a top 10 back. His vision and short area acceleration are elite. EDIT: to be clear: I'm still not paying a running back while I have Josh Allen. GB, I appreciate you sharing as this is the new NFL, and the days of Jérôme Betis are not as common. Cooks acceleration and shiftiness is a treasure and when we need an anger we have Davis. We also have explosiveness from Johnson and a solid pass catcher. I love our RB room. 1 Quote
NewEra Posted Wednesday at 12:11 AM Posted Wednesday at 12:11 AM After watching the mic’s up, I’m good with paying him 13M aav. Might not be a smart move but giving money to a guy that can take it to the house on any play is the right kind of guy to screw the cap up 4 have a feeling he wants to go to the warm weather though. Talking about being cold all game Quote
ghostwriter Posted Wednesday at 12:17 AM Posted Wednesday at 12:17 AM Cook should be re-signed. Allen fares really well when he has an elite RB behind him. Cook turns Buffalo’s offense into a two headed monster. Pay the man. Quote
machine gun kelly Posted Wednesday at 02:26 AM Posted Wednesday at 02:26 AM Well he’s had 1587 all purpose yards last year, and already at 1186 before these last two games to go. He’s not injured, so he’ll probably carry some water these last two games. Quote

EDIT: to be clear: I'm still not paying a running back while I have Josh Allen. there have been a handful of posters that saw that potential to be a home run every time he touched the ball who I know are unsurprised by this season. He was a high pick for a back with a solid pedigree- the only shame is he didn’t hit his stride a little sooner. I think maybe a combo of his own issues and probably a bit of the staffs distrust of young/new guys. It would’ve been nice to get another year out of him before he leaves to his next stop. Quote

Pierre Thomas wasn’t a super well paid guy. Sproles again was toolsy but not an elite rb contract. it’s the classic I wouldn’t be shocked to see cook leave and a sneaky mid tier vet signed or mid round pick plus the existing backs. Quote

Saquon, Henry, Jacobs, Mixon. Henry is a bargain bc of his age/heavy use, the league thought he was done. Saquon is doing what he’s always done, he’s just healthy and has a team around him, both relative firsts. I wouldn’t pay for Mixon or Jacobs in reality. Generational talent is considerably different than “really good”, Henry and Saquon are different animals all together. Quote
blacklabel Posted Wednesday at 04:23 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:23 PM He's been pretty awesome to watch this year. He's gotten a little bigger/stronger because he used to get knocked down on first contact almost every time. Now he's running thru tackles a bit more and isn't as easy to get on the ground. Quote

That home run hitting ability is scary. Sucks he probably only has one more season as a bill. He’s a difference maker at the position Would you franchise tag him to keep him 1 more year at a reasonable cost? I think I would. He did not have a lot of miles on him comming out of college. I would consider an extension because of that as well. Edited Wednesday at 04:37 PM by Whkfc Quote

Yeah, that’s definitely on the table- it’s not a Beane thing to do as it’s something the players don’t like, but I could see it for a season. Quote
