Everyone keeps saying he will replace Hamlin.  Yall know he is Rapps backup right? 
 

the games where he has gotten the most playing time, he has come down into the box.  Basically as the third LB.  He has been this best there, but he still seems lost in coverage.

By the way, watching these highlights, Dorian was abused in coverage by the NE tight ends. 

I thought we drafted undersized LBs so they would be good in coverage?  Yet TEs routinely torch them.

I was reading a site today that ranked the available free agent safeties who are available in 2025, Hamlin was in the top 10 of available safeties, so similar to Mr. Dodson, he will get paid by someone, even if us Bills fans think he's a mediocre player.

Best case scenario, he improves and shows out in these next two games, and can replace Hamlin going forward.

 

He has had his ups and downs, and his pass coverage needs a little more refinement, but he will be the future of the Safety position moving forward.

 

I'm not sure if he is ready for the future to start right now, but I think it would be smart to give him these next two games to find out.....he is definitely the most athletic Safety on the roster.

You see it correctly. He is still struggling with coverage. He seems late to his spot too often. Down in the box playing the run he has been solid the past 2 games.

I believe Benford has a year left on his rookie contract and will be a priority extension.

 

The last player from Villanova drafted since 2017, that in the 6th round in 2022.  Great find, not quite Howie Long but better than Brian Westbrook.

That's correct, he's on his rookie contract with a cap hit of 1.149 M next season.

 

Douglas at age 30 is approaching end of useful life for a top cover corner, and the Bills won't pay him, with the much younger Benford under contract.

He's playing with more confidence and decisiveness. I think he could be really good next year and I'm happy with the progress considering he missed all training camp

You and @JohnNord didn’t mention the true Waldo of the defense last game, Spector. They targeted those guys but the one that was truly getting picked on was Spector before he went out. Unsurprisingly the defense played a lot better when he went out.

Worked out great for US. Pretty sure he helped us in the comp pick formula (didn’t net us a pick but negated a UFA signing). I would happily take that from Hamlin and consider the pick a big success (7th round iirc). If you’re saying Hamlin should stay in buffalo on a modest contract I think that’s still a W for us cause he’ll be proven backup on a modest contract.

Mr Dodson got released halfway through year one of his new deal and bounced to Miami

 

He's serviceable, and average starter at best in the right scheme

 

I will be happy for Hamlin when we let him walk and he gets paid.

 

Those are the players you attempt to upgrade, not pay
