I didn't see much from him that the Bills couldn't have gotten from a guy like Kingsley Jonathan.  There are defensive players who can still be very effective into their late 30's, but I'm not sure Von is one of them.  Maybe it's the injuries, maybe it's just father time, maybe both.  As a Bills fan, he's on the roster and getting snaps, so I want him to be the best he can be, but I'm just not sure he's got much left in the tank.

I dont know. Not all pressures are created equally.

Feels kinda like the LB who tallies a lot of tackles but theyre all 7 yards downfield.

Yeah I’ll agree with that.  It’s very much like Jerry Hughes.  But the original premise was that Von was completely useless and I’d disagree with this claim.

Have you actually watched Kingsley Jonathan?

I think he’s been more of a liability than anything whenever he’s taken the field this season.

A couple good plays against a horrible offense with a rookie QB doesn’t make it move for me.

That’s fine, I just think it’s been a little more than that.

I’m actually eager to see more Javon Solomon, he seems to have that bend that is needed to be really effective.

I’ve seen a few people on this site that have said that VM dominated yesterday.

were we watching different games??

he’s slow, can’t turn the edge, and completely dogs it when he is slightly out of the play.

the dude is brutal man.

he’s bringing absolutely nothing.

what did he dominate?

running up the field ten yards in a straight line, and being pushed out of the play???

and not chasing the play down after that??

and just dogging it after that???

flame away, but he shouldn’t be on the field.

he brings nothing.

Von Millionaire is a pylon.  Change my mind.

Last couple games, He's shown he can get close to the qb, b ut can't finish. I'm not sure if that's a step in the right direction, or if it's a sign that even when he's at his best, he just can't do it anymore.

If he can move the QB off his spot with a quick rush or inside move he is good enough. I think he can.

Can he  push the edge and get outside and bend under the shoulder like he used too. I don't see it. heck move him to the other side for the outside speed rush

Would not be taking him off the field from his rotation at this point in the season for sure !

Yes, of course.  I've seen every snap of every Bills game, including most pre-season games, in the last several years.  Why would I have made that comment otherwise?  When Jonathan has played, he's made a impact on a play or two in a game.  That's about what I've seen out of Miller this season.  Jonathan is not a star player and is not expected to be, but he does make an occasional play.

And I would also agree that what we've seen out of Miller lately does remind me of Jerry Hughes in his last couple of seasons with the team.  He seemed to get close a lot, but was not ultimately getting to the QB.

As I stated earlier, I'm not a Miller hater.  Notwithstanding the domestic stuff, he's a member of the team that's getting meaningful snaps, so I want him to be successful.  I'm sure there's some bias towards higher expectations based on his name/history and large contract, but trying to be as objective as I can be, having watched every game he's played, I don't think he's making much of an impact this season.  He's a pass-rush specialist and he's not getting to the QB very often, and when he does get near the QB, it's usually too late.  He made a couple of plays earlier in the season, but he has not done a whole lot since returning from suspension.

I suppose that given his history (he's undoubtedly a first-ballot Hall of Famer) you keep running him out there hoping he'll get some of the old magic back, whereas a replacement-level guy like Kingsley Jonathan doesn't have any old magic to offer, but in the last few games, I just haven't seen it.

Von was brought here for January and hopefully February ball

He's never been 100% for the playoffs and him being 100% and making the play when needed is literally the reason he was signed.

I would not use him again until the post season.

Yep he’s been Mia all year but if he makes that 1 or 2 plays in the playoffs like he did for LA, it’ll all be worth it. LA doesn’t win the SB without him

You are wrong.

Anyone watching that game could tell Von was CONSTANTLY getting quick pressure.

Here's the problem... the quickest pressure can be negated by a QB who can quickly diagnose the D and release the ball.

Drake Maye looked like a 10 year vet in that game save a few plays.

His average release time was 1.94 seconds. That's INSANE!!!

Go watch Joe Marino's All-22 breakdown for further clarification.

I repeat...

You

Are

Wrong
