I don't mind that Denver lost.  A couple of reasons;

1. It locks the Broncos in to the 7th seed If they can win in K.C. next week.

2. It will be a preseason game for K.C. and a must win for Denver

3. Denver will have to play hard.  Bills will rest (if they beat the damn Jets)

4. The Broncos aren't very good.  I'll take the rookie QB with minimal weapons in a playoff atmosphere in Buffalo any day.

5. I want to avoid the Chargers

We could do a 2020 playoff repeat with Indy, Baltimore, and @KC.  Just pretend Flacco is Rivers and it would be the exact same qb’s too.

Gotta lock up the #2 seed to at least guarantee Baltimore would have to come through Buffalo in the playoffs. They're not as imposing on the road. And we beat them at home in the playoffs already when they had a better defense. Lamar has definitely progressed since then, and their offense is more dangerous overall, but I'll take the matchup as long as it's in OP.

Totally! That was the Diggs staring off in space while McDermott played therapist year.  Man, I'd take that pick 6 against Lamar again.

I'll take either the Colts or Broncos to open.  Just as long as the Bengals don't sneak in.  Also, the Colts will probably have Richardson ready to go.

Don't want to see Henry in a snow game

I remember the 2020 playoff game against Baltimore with the crazy wind. I thought it would favour Baltimore as they were the better running team, but it didn't.

The bills stacked the box and made Lamar beat them and he couldn't.

Lamar is definitely better now, but I think the same principle applies. If the weather is bad, Make them one dimensional/take away the run. And we have a cheat code at QB who can throw in anything

Not unreasonable to fear Henry and Lamar in bad conditions. But I still think Allen has a passing advantage over ANY other QB in the league in bad conditions. Bills could have won that insane wind game against NE on MNF if only they'd unleashed Allen as a passer sooner.

I think a snow game would be an advantage to Buffalo. They could focus on stopping the run and let Lamar throw into the snow. Allen is more used to throwing in the elements, so it should affect him less.

This is actually the approach I would go with regardless of the weather, but it would be even more effective in the snow.

I'm almost hoping that vs. the Jets, the Bills rest a bunch of players, lose a close game, and come out completely healthy. Then they go to Foxboro, and beat the Pats*. If they beat the Jets, the Ravens have nothing to play for week 18, and I think they're the toughest matchup for the Bills in the playoffs. If the Bills beat the Jets, week 18 is meaningless for the Bills, and Ravens. Practically a bye. If the games are meaningful, the Bills are going to have a much easier time vs the Patriots* than the Ravens would vs. the Browns. The Browns D plays mean.

Almost, but not quite. Beat the Jets. GO BILLS!

I like that you're thinking outside the box a bit.

I could be wrong but it just doesn't have the same vibe.  The Jets aren't playing for their coach or Rogers and the Bills were coming off an intense 4 game stretch of games.  A let down against a bad team on paper was bound to happen and it did - last week.  I would be surprised and dismayed if McD didn't have them ready fr this game.

I also think the Bills will be focused and business like in dealing with the Jets.  After all last weeks game was played with the Bills playoff positioning still a bit fuzzy, this week it's clear as glass - beat the Jets, lock up the #2 seed and have an unofficial bye the next week.

I think the players themselves will be up for this game. The reward is that most of them would get to sit next week. If we lose, they probably aren't sitting. I'm sure getting a game check and being able to sit and rest through that before the playoffs is a pretty big reward to them.

I don't want any part of the ravens or colts in a snow game.

I say bring em on.  Championship teams don't cower for anyone.   It's the NFL playoffs.    If you don't like it go play intramurals brother!

I'm honestly scared of the Ravens game. Its just so much to cover and our defense has been crap. But, if you want to win the super bowl then you have to beat tough teams.

We have to beat everyone eventually anyway.  I spend zero time worrying about the match ups

This is why the one seed is such an advantage. Bills will have to beat Ravens and Chiefs on paper. Chiefs don't face the same challenge this year although they completed the task last year. More often than not, the one seed means you only have to face one top team before the Super Bowl.

Yes. Everyone always thinks about just the bye. The bye is nice but the real advantage is only have to win 2 games at home. One of those games is probably a middling team.
