I think it's all part of their plan. Not to play these games close, but keep everythjng close to the vest. Their offensive game plan last week against the Pats was pretty vanilla, nothing like what we saw in the lions game

I don't disagree, but McD was pissed after the game.  I'm sure vanilla was the gameplan, but they did not execute it anywhere close to what he probably expected.  To have to field an on-sides kick at the end to hold off the awful Patriots looks pretty bad today.

Man, watching the Chargers annilhilate the Pats today really hits home how much the Bills played around last week and did not take that game seriously.  That needs to be cleaned up vs the NYJ.

The defensive scheme and play calling has produced abysmal results for weeks... And yes that includes the Pats game. Let's see if they bounce back against, Adams, Wilson, and Hall tomorrow.

I'm almost hoping that vs. the Jets, the Bills rest a bunch of players, lose a close game, and come out completely healthy. Then they go to Foxboro, and beat the Pats*. If they beat the Jets, the Ravens have nothing to play for week 18, and I think they're the toughest matchup for the Bills in the playoffs. If the Bills beat the Jets, week 18 is meaningless for the Bills, and Ravens. Practically a bye. If the games are meaningful, the Bills are going to have a much easier time vs the Patriots* than the Ravens would vs. the Browns. The Browns D plays mean.

Almost, but not quite. Beat the Jets. GO BILLS!

I said this last week before the Pats game but it bears repeating again now: this game will be a good measure of how the Bills defense will be prepared for the playoffs. If they can’t get up for this game and execute well at home with so much on the line against a 4-win team, it’s not a great predictor for January.

Hyde not elevated again.

Why did they bother to sign him?

This game and next week are perfect opportunity to see if he can still play.

Looking like more of a PR stunt now than a serious footbal decision.

They told you exactly what it was when he was signed. They said the expectations were extremely low for him. He was signed to a practice squad spot. He is there to provide some leadership and depth in case of emergency, just like any other practice squad player.

If you read more into it, that's on you, especially when they were so clear that he was not brought in to start.

PR stunt? Hardly. He was signed to provide guidance for the young guys, especially Bishop, and it sounds like it has been effective so far. He can be a pull-cord-in-case-of-emergency guy as well, but we’re not quite at that point.

Fair enough. If everyone was healthy I'd agree but they are already playing backups to guys that aren't even that great anyways. Woukd be nice to see a Hyde/Rapp or Hyde/Bishop lineup for a half of football to see what he can do.

Where are you getting that from? I didn’t see anything about PS call ups yet. How do you know he’s not up?

Never knew Allen had rt shoulder injury along with rt elbow as per report. Better get a big lead and pull him till wild card game.

Yeah agree.

On one hand I’d like to think being a Division Game, coming off a stretch of incredible efforts since Kc that  maybe it was more of a step back take a breath kinda week..

But on the other hand, some concerning trends are lingering. At the same time,  Baltimore and Kc keep rolling week in and out and that bothers me. I am a bit concerned about slow starts, a D that is getting slashed early and often.

Once again I fear we are going to be asking a lot of Allen come playoff time.

He’s also probably not in game shape yet.

In four weeks it will be Draft discussion time.

Yeah it’s not like GMs and head coaches are known for being dodgy on things.

They weren't dodgy at all about the Hyde signing.

He just so clearly lost a big step the last time he was playing. He doesn't have the coverage range.

I wouldn't be opposed to seeing him elevated as a backup to play in spot duty. I guess we'll see what happens.

There's some weather guys here...where's all the rain coming from for tomorrow?  There's nothing major on the radar tonight anywhere near WNY so I assume it hasn't formed yet?

Next week, yes.  This week, no.  They need to win.  I think generally people are expecting too much of Hyde.  He was clearly declining last year and he has literally been on the couch until a few weeks ago.  He is cheap insurance and locker room leadership.  What they need is Rapp up to speed, and yes, Hamlin also.

Warm moist air coming form the South with a S/SE wind setting up for morning.

I don’t care what it looks like, just get the W. It’s a week to week league. How we look tomorrow has zero bearing on how we will look in the first quarter of the wild card game. The best chance we have of beating the Ravens, assuming we win our Wild Card game (which almost everyone on here seems to be overlooking), is at home. So just get the W.

My only concern is the D-line. We’ve got a large body of evidence to suggest that more often than not, they aren’t good enough. They’ve shown the potential to have some great games, but we are going to need 4 in a row to win the SB and I don’t think that’s likely.

I’ve been plenty wrong before though, so hopefully a switch gets turned on and they play above what they’ve shown so far.
