Rapp has arguably been the Bills best defensive player this year and his injury had the biggest negative affect on the defense.

 

He's been one of the best safeties in the league this year, IMO.

And that isn’t his greatest motivator either.   Obviously that is an award that will go towards his legacy, but this award is also for his teammates and the city of Buffalo.

 

Everyone can see that it has been highly contentious over the past couple weeks and I guarantee you he wants to win it for the city of Buffalo.

 

I expect the Bills to be fired up, I just hope Brady calls a good offensive game plan against the Jets.

There are so many good players to bring back, I don’t see how there is any money left to bring in someone like that.

Man, watching the Chargers annilhilate the Pats today really hits home how much the Bills played around last week and did not take that game seriously.  That needs to be cleaned up vs the NYJ.

Also last week was NE's Super Bowl.  After they got up 14 - 0 the Bills went on a 24 - 0 tear for about two and a half quarters.

I could be wrong but it just doesn't have the same vibe.  The Jets aren't playing for their coach or Rogers and the Bills were coming off an intense 4 game stretch of games.  A let down against a bad team on paper was bound to happen and it did - last week.  I would be surprised and dismayed if McD didn't have them ready fr this game.

 

I also think the Bills will be focused and business like in dealing with the Jets.  After all last weeks game was played with the Bills playoff positioning still a bit fuzzy, this week it's clear as glass - beat the Jets, lock up the #2 seed and have an unofficial bye the next week.

By "played around" are you referring to the vanilla game plan, overly conservative inactive decisions or on-field execution?

To be fair to McD and the Bills they've bought into the concept of load management.  The problem is that this concept is still evolving for the NFL and involves one of the most dangerous things you can do in football before a game - assume your opponent sucks and plan accordingly.  The Bills would say that while it was stressful at the end they got it right against NE.

I think (hope) they might be slightly more fired up this week. I think the team will want MVP for Josh which means no sleepwalking through the game. Hope so anyway. Watching Chargers-Pats tonight does show how poor the Bills as an entirety were last week.

For me, it's all of the above as well.   If you choose to go vanilla, then you still have to execute, and they didn't.  You just get the sense sometimes that when the Bills start to "feel" themselves and read the press clippings, they play as if they can roll out of bed at home in front of the Mafia and get an automatic W.   And we saw that against the Pats in the first half.   If they want to take week 18 off against NE that's fine, as long as they put out max effort against the Jets.

I think it's all part of their plan. Not to play these games close, but keep everythjng close to the vest. Their offensive game plan last week against the Pats was pretty vanilla, nothing like what we saw in the lions game

What are you talking about? What have the Bills ever said/done in the McDermott era that would make you think this? If you need to tell yourself this to make you feel better that’s fine, but this is going way overboard in terms of reading into a situation. 
 

How have people still not figured out this is a week to week league and one week/game has no bearing on how the next week will go for any team
