Umm, Can this be merged with one of the old Tremaine Edmunds threads?

I feel like every year there’s 4-6 personas that need to be established on the team (the coaches pet, the overly aggressive defensive player, etc) and it doesn’t matter, the team will have them.

This place will make sure of it 😂

Rapp’s positive plays unquestionably more than make up for some friendly fire accidents. Even Mahomes put a teammate out for the year. Stuff happens.

Yeah.....Samuel and Hamlin aren't playing for sure.  But I wouldn't mind seeing what it looks like with Rapp and Bishop starting if there is a chance of it.

I'd like to see Hyde get some time in and see what he and Rapp look like at this point

there is a social media trend of Jets fans giving up the Jets for the Bills. it is probably as bandwagon as it comes but maybe some will stay a while.

I understand that.  It's why the Stillers are my second favorite team.  Back in the late 1960s and 1970s, the Bills fielded teams that were horrible.  1 or 2 wins seasons seemed to be the norm.  The only decent years they had were the first couple of years under Lou Saban when they had OJ, Joe Ferguson, Bobby Chandler etc and even made the playoffs at least one time.  I began rooting for the Steelers, especially against the Raiders, in the playoffs.  I still root for them if their winning doesn't impact the Bills .

That one Lombardi doesn't seem to provide much comfort to Jets fans right now. Or at least it doesn't to the three generations of Jets fans that have been born since they won it.

You nailed it.  I had just turned 19 when the Jests beat Baltimore in SB III.  I'll be 75 in a couple of weeks.  It was a different world then.  Richard Nixon had not yet been inaugurated POTUS.  Neil Armstrong was 6 months from stepping on the moon.  The cell phone you used 10 years ago was far more powerful than the computers NASA used to send the astronauts there and bring them home safely.  The first Earth Day wouldn't be celebrated until April 22, 1970, and Ohio National Guardsmen wouldn't kill 4 Kent State University students protesting the US invasion of Cambodia a few weeks later on May 4, 1970.

As a fellow +40 year old who has been hit WAY fewer times, I'm quite certain that every part of Aaron Rodgers will be aching Sunday afternoon. Before the game even starts.

Garrett Wilson would be first on my list with the recent performance of our secondary.

Take care of business. Secure the 2 sees. Rest everyone we can next week.

Pats beat us next week and it hurts their draft position and almost guarantees Mayo is back as their coach. Win/win even in a loss there.

Let Mitch have game 17. Showcase him. Who knows, maybe he lights it up and some team desperate  for a vet QB to compete next year like the Browns offer up a nice draft pick for him. The Rob Johnson Effect.

I actually think we’d start Mike White. They seem to really like the work he’s done and honestly I feel they’d save Mitch. As dumb as it sounds if josh had to go out for a Quarter in the wildcard round, I think Mitch could get us through. They probably don’t want to risk him getting hurt either.

I don't know.....  If I'm the Jets and know that I am out of the race, I am not playing anyone that is remotely banged up or at risk for re-injury or perhaps making a current injury worse.  I mean, there is literally nothing to gain for them by winning this game.  Why risk some of your better players if you don't have to?

This would be the perfect chance to get a look at some younger guys or players that have kind of been buried on the depth chart get a look.  I mean, they have little chance of winning regardless, but as an organization, winning this game only hurts your draft position at this point.  To me, when you have no shot at the Playoffs, you have to make every decision with the bigger picture in mind, not just a specific game.  But, that's just me.  They can do what they want.

They need to script something to get Allen and the offense off to a fast start.  Too many home games where they go 3 and out right out of the gate and it messes up the entire first Qtr possession time  (examples this season:  Arizona, Tenn, Miami, SF, NE).  Yes, they usually get it together and sometimes roll,  but in a game to seal up the 2 seed they should try to put the weakened Jets away quickly if the Bills are what we think they are.

I think Rapp has been my favorite player on the defense. I can think of 4 or 5 TD saving plays that were keys to us winning. The guy plays defense the way it was intended to be played. The guys on that side of the ball should be fast, physical loose cannons. Our defensive philosophy makes me sick. A defense should be coming down hill, making you uncomfortable. Not falling back like a wet blanket hoping a team gets bored and you can hold them to 3 in the red zone. I don’t even want to let them in the red zone. I wish our defense had half the balls that our offense does. But that’s McDermott. Fall back skate Defense

I just wanted say that Netflix sucks… I hope they never show another nfl game on that pos streaming channel… How gosh damn stupid for them to put the games on some bull#### like that that not everyone has… Could you imagine if that was our Bills playing and the pos kept cutting out and buffering… Hopefuuly nobody fed into it and went out and got Netflix just to watch those games

The functionality (i.e. - fast forward) could be better but I had not problem with the actual feed at my end. And the picture was immaculate.

But I'm highly annoyed that streaming is growing and even more, that the NFL is fragmenting their packages so we have to subscribe to more services in order to watch the games.

That's the real evil IMO.

Carter, Hamlin, Rapp, Douglas and Milano should get plenty of work Sunday. Knock off the rust and get back to feasting. No reason our best defenders shouldn’t be on the field when the 2 seed and 2 weeks off are on the line.

Also Bishop, Elam, and Solomon.

Who won the MVP the last ten years?
Who won the SB?  No one knows/cares about the MVP once it’s over.
All the negative emojis to my “not even a little” when I was asked if I care about the MVP is laughable.
you all care WAY more about the MVP than Josh does, I can guarantee that.

Actually you're one of a group of people here that are crusading about not winning/not caring about the MVP... that are at least as heavily invested in your viewpoints than those here who would like to see Josh win it.

While I'm sure Josh cares more about winning the Super Bowl than the MVP...

1) Josh is an ultra-competitive guy so there's no way that he doesn't care

2) As clearly demonstrated by his teammates giving him the MVP bling, THEY CARE very much who wins it as it's often viewed as a team award... and those guys LOVE Josh and want him to win it

3) It's a career/legacy award so you're probably downplaying it more than the team/Josh are

4) Many here would love to see Josh win it because of the long-overdue recognition it would bring him

So regardless of how we as individuals feel about him winning the award (or wanting to win the award) it's a big deal and an essential part of the narrative surrounding this game.

Personally I don't foresee an MVP-clinching performance in this game... I just don't get the feeling it's gonna happen but I would love to be wrong.

It says in The Buffalo News today that Allen is dealing with right elbow and right shoulder injuries after the Patriots game.  This feels like with the weather it's going to be a ground and pound and quick screen passes, type of game.

This is another reason I'm not feeling a big performance on Sunday. Josh has an established history of downplaying and playing through pretty significant injuries which hurt his performance. He injured his shoulder against the Lions. His arm/hand has gone numb a couple of times since then. The Bills better be doing everything they can to protect Josh from himself.

Glass houses...

Last I checked they have a Lombardi and we don't. Don't tell me that was a long time ago when people still talk about back to back AFL Championships on here all the time.

You're not wrong but the Jets Super Bowl win is pretty meaningless at this point. The Jets fans I talk to never bring it up. I always mention it to make them feel better.

Consider:

All-Time Bills-Jets Record: Bills 70 Jets 58

Bills All-Time Winning Percentage:  .480

Jets All-Time Winning Percentage: .448

Bills winning percentage during 17 year drought: .412

Jets winning percentage during current 14 year drought:  .358

Finally, consider this question: How many Bills fans would trade the promise of the future for a Super Bowl win in 1969?

Regarding Davante Adams, he won't be with the Jets next year so from the Jets' standpoint there's nothing to save him for.

Also he wants to catch Rodgers' 500th career TD pass. I believe he caught Rodgers' 100th and 400th career TD passes.

Rodgers is currently poised at 499.
