Glass houses...

Last I checked they have a Lombardi and we don't. Don't tell me that was a long time ago when people still talk about back to back AFL Championships on here all the time.

Allen is 8-4 in 12 games with 14 TD and 11 INT. His passer rating against the Jets is 10 points lower than his career rating.  Good but hardly domination.

That one Lombardi doesn't seem to provide much comfort to Jets fans right now. Or at least it doesn't to the three generations of Jets fans that have been born since they won it.

Can you imagine being a Jets fan the past couple years?

Watching Tom Brady retire only to immediately be followed by Josh Allen. Gonna be about 35 straight years of an elite QB in your division, dominating you year in and year out.
*****************************

You draft what you think is the best QB in that 2018 draft in Sam Darnold, then watch him flame out. Then you draft Zach Wilson in the first and watch HIM flame out.

*****************************

Then you bring in Super Bowl winner and multi time MVP Aaron Rodgers to play QB?! All that fanfare, all of those prognostications of winning the division from the media, all those nationally televised games. Opening night on Monday Night Football, the building rocking, Rodgers running out on the field with the American flag. How pumped must they have been? "THIS IS OUR YEAR!".

1. They could have drafted Allen which is the much bigger thing   You need to design an offense around the QB/ players you have not have them fit what you want.

2. Wilson actually wasn’t that bad given the coaches he had.  He didn’t flame out. Thry were impatient and felt the problem was the QB

3. flawed logic of a just below 500 team feels having a better QB and we would have won 3-4 games we list and we would have made the playoffs

Since 2019 the Bills are 8-3. One game Allen did not play ( L in 2019 in season finale where Buffalo clinched #5 seed). The other two loses was last year opener in OT on a punt return and in 2023 at Jets by 3. That game it’s believed Allen hurt his throwing arm which hurt the opportunity at trying to come back and win.

I do think this will be a motivator.  It's not just a legacy piece of hardware, which I think is important but it's also a sense of pride for the Bills players.   They see this heated MVP debate that's going on and they love Josh.   I think the players will play hard this week, I just hope Brady schemes up a good game against this Jets defense.

I said during the offseason that Rapp was one of the most underrated players on the team, and I think he still is. Getting a healthy Rapp back on the field, along with a healthy Douglas, is critical for the playoffs, IMO.

Mack Hollins makes me chuckle. Something about him...

He also seems to make 1 big play a game. I wonder what it will be this week.

I thought last year the Bills D looked the best when it was Rapp and Hyde on the field instead of Poyer.

Depends on who he is taking off the field with his constant friendly fire hits...

He’s one of the most aggressive players on our team…. With a D that’s looks soft on a regular basis Rapp stands out for physical play.

That was the biggest knock on him last season, and in TC. He's a fierce tackler, to be sure. But, it's a lot better to have a player that you have to coach down, rather than coach up.

Aggression is great but he needs to be better at controlling it...there is no reason to be coming in like a flying missile when a player is being wrapped up and surrounded by 3 of your teammates. That's just reckless and the majority of his reckless plays are completely unneeded based on what is happening in the play.

Rich Cimini on X: "Jets injury update: WR Davante Adams (hip) returned to practice and looked good, per Ulbrich. CB Sauce Gardner (hamstring) and DT Quinnen Williams (hamstring) will try to play, Ulbrich says, but it sounds iffy. #Jets" / X

I did notice that he's the offensive player they bring in on Hail Mary situations, wonder if Rodgers has another Hail Mary in his script?

Has this been a problem since TC, though?

I think there still may be a future for him....kinda like Darnold. Maybe he gets into NO or Vegas...

It's been a problem since he has been on the team going back to last year.  Literally can't ever remember thinking to myself that while his play has been very good and we are much better with him in the lineup, do we actually want him playing if he is going to cause 5-6 injuries every year for multiple weeks to his teammates?

Almost have to weigh his play versus his propensity to take out his teammates for weeks on end randomly...

Crazy we even have to have this convo but we do.

Umm, Can this be merged with one of the old Tremaine Edmunds threads?
