stuckincincy Posted June 25, 2005 Posted June 25, 2005 "Saturday, June 25, 2005 County wins NFL file access Ruling comes in antitrust suit vs. league, Bengals By Cindi Andrews Enquirer staff writer A U.S. magistrate Friday ordered the National Football League to turn over reams of sensitive financial information to Hamilton County, a victory for the county in its antitrust lawsuit against the league and the Cincinnati Bengals. "The materials sought are likely to result in the discovery of admissible evidence in support of or opposed to (the county's) conspiracy theory," U.S. District Court Magistrate Timothy Hogan wrote in his opinion. The NFL has 30 days to hand over audited financial statements for every team from 1990 to present; other documents related to all teams' revenue and finances; broadcast agreements; documents regarding the NFL's stadium loan program; any settlements over the Cleveland Browns' move to Baltimore, and other documents." The article said, further on, that the info would not be made public, although nothing was said by the writer about it's availability to other government bodies. It remains to be seen how far this will go, appeals etc. http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/art...EWS01/506250389
