Matt_In_NH Posted yesterday at 10:12 AM Posted yesterday at 10:12 AM The bills blitzed him and he really never cracked. He was calm and mostly Delivered good balls. 1 Quote

Ridgewaycynic2013 Posted yesterday at 12:37 PM Posted yesterday at 12:37 PM Offseason conditioning and workouts are key in a player's success. Maye may look better in May 2025. Quote
bobobonators Posted yesterday at 12:56 PM Posted yesterday at 12:56 PM If I was a Pats fan, I’d be excited for the future. Not sure if the HC/OC combo will get it done for them though Quote

JohnnyBuffalo Posted yesterday at 03:07 PM Posted yesterday at 03:07 PM (edited) He’s a rookie and therefore defenses don’t completely know his tendencies. He is slightly above average and will have an up and down career until there is a better group of players around him. I don’t see him as a starter in 5 years because the team he is on is that time line away from being relevant again. Edited yesterday at 03:08 PM by JohnnyBuffalo Delete a word autocorrect added Quote
Drew21PA Posted yesterday at 03:11 PM Posted yesterday at 03:11 PM I think playing in the nfl is hard being above average and good is really hard he is above average and progressing - what you want to see from a rookie dont see the crazy playmaking ability per se - but he’s going to be good for them and a challenge for us. However - I’m not a fan of the organization anymore and feel it’s going to self destruct like Miami and jets do. ego has a way of doing that 1 Quote

Giants missed out on him because Tommy Cutlets won a few games for them last year, lowering their draft position....LOL Quote

You have forgotten more about football than I will ever know. I was having fun with homonyms. 😁 Quote
PromoTheRobot Posted yesterday at 03:27 PM Posted yesterday at 03:27 PM I think we are seeing now how important coaching is to player development. Josh Allen wouldn't be the play he is now without it. And now we see guys who were drafted in Allen's class like Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield who looked like busts playing well. Even Geno Smith looks good now. 2 Quote

His absolute floor is Daniel Jones. I’m more amused by this than I care to admit. debating which wash out is a better comp seems silly though basically he’s boom or bust. It’s hard to break out of the top side of that in just a few games but he hasn’t fallen out of the bottom either Quote
stevewin Posted yesterday at 03:33 PM Posted yesterday at 03:33 PM (edited) Maye was a baller at UNC. In college he had a lot of chunk runs/scrambles that I didn't think would translate to the pros. I think he still has scramble ability, but don't think he is anywhere the running threat he was in college. I think he'll end up being a decent QB - but I won't fear him or NE as long as we have Josh. If anything I view it as tougher games for Jets/Fins which is a good thing - let those teams beat each other while we take the division Edited yesterday at 03:34 PM by stevewin 2 Quote
CincyBillsFan Posted yesterday at 04:31 PM Posted yesterday at 04:31 PM I thought Maye was very impressive and IMO the Pats will be the Bills biggest challenge in the AFC East over the next 5 years. 1 Quote

But I give him credit and it looks like he will get his. Jets are just a perennial dumpster fire. Quote

Maye does some things you can’t teach. It’s up to the coaching staff to teach them how to make the right decisions. Maye made a ton of mistakes today, but he was a rookie playing in an extremely difficult environment against an elite team. He’s got subpar talent at basically every single offensive position, and his coach is clearly developmentally disabled. I was impressed with him. I was impressed with his escapability but I would need to see him against a better defense than Buffalo is running out there right now. His talent means that we need to rebuild our D in a hurry. ProcessTruster Posted yesterday at 05:41 PM Posted yesterday at 05:41 PM If the Pats fix their O Line, they will be a lot better next year. So will we. Quote

If the Pats end up with the second overall pick, they will be in position to get a major draft haul from one of the many QB-needy teams. They also have a lot of cap room. They could get turned around in a hurry. Quote
