His throw to Boutte was probably one of the best throws of the season from any QB. But outside of that 1st drive - he was just kind of okay. Threw a bad pick in the EZ, and then shouldn't have thrown that backwards pass to the RB. Still not really seeing it - but curious what the rest of you think. Second best QB in the AFCE by a mile next year tbh 1 1 Quote

If he does he could be elite. If he doesn’t he could be will levis. He’s already shown that he’s far better than Levis, and he’s 3 and a half years younger. His absolute floor is Daniel Jones. 1 Quote
Roundybout Posted Monday at 03:13 AM Posted Monday at 03:13 AM Could easily be a Justin Herbert. I think he’s already shown he belongs in the league. 1 Quote
DCofNC Posted Monday at 03:20 AM Posted Monday at 03:20 AM Kid looks scary. He’s got a ton of talent, dare I say, similar to JA, if he develops, we are watching the Pats coming back to being a PITA in the division. 1 Quote
Since1981 Posted Monday at 03:22 AM Posted Monday at 03:22 AM He was very good. lots of cap and draft left for Kraft. unfortunately 1 Quote
Olliemets Posted Monday at 03:24 AM Posted Monday at 03:24 AM Looks like he's going to present a problem in coming years. Teams will adjust but I suspect he will too. 1 Quote
Sharky7337 Posted Monday at 03:29 AM Posted Monday at 03:29 AM He looks like he's going to be good. 1 Quote
Art in PNS Posted Monday at 03:30 AM Posted Monday at 03:30 AM I liked him coming out of college was not happy he went to the cheatriots. He has a lot of Josh’s qualities. Unfortunately for us I think he’s only going to get better with more games 1 Quote
BRH Posted Monday at 03:35 AM Posted Monday at 03:35 AM When Josh was a rookie (and for awhile afterward) he did a bunch of dumb things. But let's not forget that he came from juco and the University of Wyoming, whereas Maye played in the ACC. You'd have to assume Maye is more of a finished product, nearer his ceiling, than Josh was. Maye looked great on the first [scripted] drive. He stood tall in the pocket under pressure and got rid of it when things weren't there. I think he was deemed probably the most pro-ready of the QBs who came out this year and he's shown it. But Levis looked like that last year. I think we'll have to wait and see whether (a) the Pats coach him up properly; (b) they can get him the personnel help he needs -- and he needs a lot of it; and (c) he has the drive and discipline to reach his ceiling. I agree with the people who say he's a lot more Justin Herbert than he is Josh Allen. 2 Quote
Big Turk Posted Monday at 03:41 AM Posted Monday at 03:41 AM Clearly the only potential franchise QB in the division other than Allen. He could be a really good one. A notch beneath Allen, but could easily have the Patriots on our heels within a few years. 1 1 Quote

Maye is already playing very well behind the worst OL in the league, with zero weapons. This idea that franchises “ruin” good QBs is ridiculous. 1 1 Quote
julian Posted Monday at 03:47 AM Posted Monday at 03:47 AM I’d feel much better being a fan of the Patriots and a young Drake Maye than a fan of the mess the Jets and Dolphins have created, by a large margin. 3 Quote
Saint Doug Posted Monday at 03:47 AM Posted Monday at 03:47 AM McD usually eats rookie QBs for breakfast. Not sure why that didn’t happen today. 1 Quote
KCNC Posted Monday at 03:47 AM Posted Monday at 03:47 AM He looks like trouble for years to come. Really impressed with him and I had low expectations. 1 Quote

DrDawkinstein Posted Monday at 03:49 AM Posted Monday at 03:49 AM He's certainly better than McCorkle, but if this is what we have to worry about, compared to Josh/Mahomes/Burrow/Jackson, I'm fine with it. I look forward to the Pats ending up in a Tua-like situation in 4 years and hamstringing their franchise. 1 Quote

Success Posted Monday at 03:58 AM Author Posted Monday at 03:58 AM I didn't see as much as some here saw, or are seeing. But maybe I'm just trying to convince myself. That 1st drive was somethin'. The throw to Boutte made me wonder if we'd even win the game. But then not much happened. I know he doesn't have much to work with - but he just didn't do much after that. Most of the games they've had that I've paid attention to were the same - 1 or 2 really good drives, and not much aside from that. 1 Quote

Right now I think he checks down a lot to backs and Tight Ends, but when you start looking across the AFC at QBs who are mobile, it’s a plus in that category. Quote
