Big Turk Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 So is proper grammar apparently as "Defesne" now passes as Defense 😂 1 1 Quote
Eastport bills Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 I respect Sean and I believe he creates a winning culture and the players give maximum effort. Unfortunately he comes from the defensive side of the ball and our defense continues to be the weakest unit especially come playoff time. Now the question is if Sean’s strength is not complimentary in supporting Josh and our arguably top 5 offense, why keep him. His game day decisions are not impressive and his personnel choices have been less than stellar(Elam, Miller, Jones, Phillips, Jefferson, Spector) Even Epenesa, Milano are not making enough difference making plays. If Sean loses to Baltimore in the divisional round or KC in the Conference Championship, Bills fan should demand a change. 1 1 1 1 Quote

Defense was ranked #1 and #2 in 2021 and 2022 under Leslie. How'd they do in the playoffs? That's all that matters. 2021 = Sean's :13 blunder. 2022 = Sean's rookie OC put up 10 points vs Bengals. The scheme of this defense plays well in the regular season, and gets obliterated in the playoffs. This has been true since the corpse of Philip Rivers was one or two passes from upsetting us in the Wild Card. I think I understand better now. You fundamentally disagree with Sean's defensive philosophy regardless of coordinator. Sean blew :13 when he took over play calling but with a top ranked D it shouldn't have been that close anyway. It's hard to compare the 2022 season in the playoffs because of the near-death of Damar – sucked the life out of the whole squad. 10 points on O vs Bengals isn't going to cut it with all the D injuries we had. I must admit I didn't think much of Andy first time I laid eyes on him; looked like a stiff breeze would blow him over. That was my first impression of the man. Hey that Shawshank quote works for our defense too! I mean our "defesne"!! 1 1 Quote

In fairness the 31 points to Skylar Thompson was mainly because the offense kept throwing up on itself. The Fins had two drives over 30 yards all day. They could not move the ball. Lucky for them our O and STs kept doing the hard work for them and giving it to them in our territory. 2 Quote

You should check the box score and play by play of that game. 1 Quote
altleg Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Bills average only 2.9 opponents punts against per game which is the lowest in the league. High turnovers and big leads might account for some of that, but there is a lot of "bend" in our defense. Quote
