Talk about a missing piece to winning multiple SB’s. It’s crazy that a team that had 5 HOFers, and other borderline ones, simply needed that ONE BIG DLman that they never got, to be a champion. Quote

I don't really care what you think about me let's talk about facts. A mcl tear is career ending? Can you provide an example? A MCL tear often heals without surgery and is much less severe. You really think that would affect his value that much? How many college players get drafted after these injuries. Point is we shoulda moved off him. That is becoming less debatable. he didn’t just have an mcl in his knee, he had a right tibial plateau fracture as well. The dude missed the rest of the season. Nobody was giving a second for that risk, not to mention a cap hit we would sustain with no cap space already. They had to make moves just to get under the cap as it was. He wasn’t getting traded. 1 1 Quote
aristocrat Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Von has always been a big game player hoping he takes it up a notch in the playoffs. Also hope Micah can come in and give us a boost one last time to finish out his career. Quote

Saint Doug Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 I think the defense is getting lazy in games, thinking the offense will just bail them out. And in almost every game, they have. The defense can be this passive. They need to learn to take games over, not be along for the ride. Quote

The best of the best QBs are in the playoffs and when they start playing smart and patient football, they will overcome these bend-but-dont-break defense. Secondly, the best of the best defenses are also in the playoffs and can shut down offenses that get behind. The Bills need to fix the defense and fast. Quote
Dr.Sack Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 Bills defense is doing a heckuva job outside of 3rd and long. Recall we’ve learned not to give 10 yards of cushion in 20mph winds since Burrow and Chase lit us up with a ton of stop routes. Quote

I also think this passive strategy is both ineffective and antiquated when it comes to the playoffs. But ultimately the problem is spending and roster building decisions whether the draft or free agency on the defensive side have been poor for several off seasons. Nothing McDermott does is going to fix that in week 17. 1 Quote

Not only do we lack any real impact players on the line, but what makes it even worse is that we spend resources there like we do. Quote

Now they’re giving up chunks of yards and points. If a team truly commits to running the ball against the Bills, they don’t have an answer for it, and it opens up so many other options. When they aren’t getting gashed by the run, they aren’t generating any pass rush, which leaves an already depleted secondary in a really bad spot. Bad teams can’t really expose that. Baltimore did it first. Then Houston, LA, Detroit and now New England. tjis is going to be a problem in the playoffs Houston didn't win by gashing us by running, not even close. We lost that game largely because we couldn't stop the pass, they crushed us by threw for 331 yards worth and Josh had an abysmal day, not even completing 30% of his passes. As for running, the Texans didnt get over 94 yards rushing average 3.4 yards/ carry. Quote

The worst part too is this approach keeps our offense off the field and encourages the other team to have long drives. How awesome was it getting one possession for the offense the entire first quarter this past weekend? 1 Quote
