Sorry bro - u lost me RIGHT there......Roquan, and he was healthy, of course would have drawn that.  Come on man.  You got flack before - yer looking for more now???  You are a glutton for punishment.....

What are you taking about this is a weird response. I don't really care what you think about me let's talk about facts.

A mcl tear is career ending? Can you provide an example?

A MCL tear often heals without surgery and is much less severe.

You really think that would affect his value that much?

How many college players get drafted after these injuries.

Point is we shoulda moved off him.

That is becoming less debatable.

All this team needs is a healthy ALL PRO Linebacker in the middle

This doom and gloom is exaggerated.

I disagree here unless we have a line backer that can be three places at once.

D line, corner, lb at same time.

Granted 3/4’s of the secondary was out as well as Milano (who surely wasn’t 100% before being out for todays game)

but…

The defense has given up chunks of yards all year but not many points. Now they’re giving up chunks of yards and points.

If a team truly commits to running the ball against the Bills, they don’t have an answer for it, and it opens up so many other options.

When they aren’t getting gashed by the run, they aren’t generating any pass rush, which leaves an already depleted secondary in a really bad spot.

Bad teams can’t really expose that. Baltimore did it first. Then Houston, LA, Detroit and now New England.

tjis is going to be a problem in the playoffs

OMG!  Please, please, please.....correct the spelling of 'defense' in the topic title.  It's painful to read.  Seriously.

The strength of this team in not the defense, we just need to stop the run.

I wonder about the inconsistencies on this defense. One week they crush the opponents running game, the next two weeks they get bashed. One week the pass rush and pressure is awesome, the next it disappears. That tells me the talent is there, so is it preparation or motivation?

I said at the beginning of the season I just want us healthy for the playoffs, and I feel that way more today then ever before. I do think we are playing more vanilla now then we will in playoffs but we will see.

Ya I agree there to an extent, but you also need a pass rush.

Most of our eliminations highlighted that.

Your skills with the language are what is in troubel.

To your assertion: our Offense is essentially unstoppabel.   I'll take that trade.

In a defense that has holes up and down the roster, I think by far the biggest liability are the safties.

Even when the starters are in there, the play is very reactive instead of proactive.

Remember Poyer and Hyde in their prime?..they then seemed to be all over the field..breaking up passes in support and the occasional INT. Current safeties don't seem to have those instincts.

Despite playing a high cover two shell, our current corners always appear to be on an island on deep passes. The safeties seem undersized on run protection.

I think Beane could see the writing on the wall and that's why Bishop was drafted so high...but although lots of raw talent, it's a steep learning curve.

If they run into a really good receiver tandem/trio in the playoffs (Remember Cupp and Nakua?)  it could get very ugly.

They said it before his leg injury. He wasn’t injured when they brought it up.

He brought it up before Week 5 2023?  That’s when he broke his leg and the last time he played.
Then came the ruptured bicep in training camp.
Not sure where the window of getting any kind of return in a trade would be.

This doom and gloom is exaggerated.

And two safeties at the professional level

Hyde should be ready soon. Let's hope

Two things that drive me insane with the Defense:

1.) It feels like both LB's are always in coverage when the QB doesn't immediately hand the football off. It seems like they rely on the D-Line to both rush the QB and make the stop on a QB run or a Screen. FAR too often if a screen player or a runner gets beyond the line of scrimmage, there's no one there to make the tackle for large chunks. To the point where non-mobile QB's like Goff are taking off at the speed of smell and picking up 1st Downs.

2.) Even with 5 DB's on the field and LB's in coverage, there's giant holes in the zones. With upwards of 6 or 7 players in coverage, far too often I see a receiver making a catch with 3 defenders in the area - but no one within like 5 yards of them. It's absolutely maddening.

Everyone knows about our struggles against the run, but I looked at stats and we're in the bottom 25 percent in passing yards given up, not a good combination for the playoffs when all the teams you play will have winning records.
