They do not suck.  They are a slightly above average group as a whole that lacks a guy who commands attention making it easier for the other three.

 

couple that with they stay in nickel vs teams who are in 12 personnel.  They essentially allow Oliver to get doubled in that situation and ask the line to defeat 5 or 6 blockers with the front four.

 

they need a front line guy.  A Myles Garret or Dexter Lawrence who can wreck a game by themselves.  
 

the only way to get one is in the draft.

Yea I think I called Spector an offensive cheat code in another post 😂. Idk how you can even bring pressure when whoever Spector is near is a free quick completion every time lol might as well blitz him every play

I think DT is the problem personally.  A lot of these DEs that pile up sack numbers (which seem to be all this board cares about when evaluating DE play) are getting help from competent DT play which allows them to clean up.  Idk what happened to Daquan jones but he’s been really bad

WGR had a good talk this morning on the lack of a powerhouse DT in the middle. We haven’t spent a high draft pick on one in ages. We need a Dexter Lawrence or a Quinnen Williams. We can’t keep throwing out recycled garbage like Poona Ford or Vernon Butler in the middle.

Yea it’s the lack of a presence that demands a double team.  You always want It to be up the middle if possible.

 

Some teams  have those big guys that two gap and take up space allow the linebackers to run free.  
 

the bills need one of these types of players to fall into their lap.  They are too expensive to trade for and the bills with Allen will never be bad enough to get one in the top ten.  We need someone to slip to us or to find a steal in the draft in a late round that develops into one of these types.

That was a very good offense that was clicking on all cylinders.  Not an excuse, just an observation that we are getting everybody's A game right now.  That was by far the best I have seen the Patriots offense play all season, but luckily, their ceiling wasn't as high as the Rams or Lions.  

 

I am curious to see if the Patriots can play at that level again when we face them in 2 weeks.  I hope not.

There's just no room for anyone to play other than perfect.  We don't have a guy who erases mistakes on defense.  If you have a Bosa or Watt and your coverage isn't perfect they're still going to bring the QB down a couple times a game or drop a rb in the backfield.  Miller was our swing.  No way of knowing he'd get injured but the fact that we made that swing was and is an admission that we were missing that piece.

I hear you but this is what I'll say:

 

Game against the rams the argument was. "Rams were on a heater, there's nothing we could have done as they are unstoppable when they are healthy ". They have had 1 TD in two games since that bills game

 

Then against Detroit the argument was: "Injuries and game script allowed Detroit to score a lot of points". To a certain degree yes, but 42 points given up is horrible in any circumstance and the offence  needed to keep scoring or they would have lost 

 

And now I'm hearing the injury excuse from yesterday from others.

 

We got to stop making excuses for this defence and call a spade a spade -The bills defence has been pathetic the last 3 weeks

Sure, and some of that is due to our constant rotation on the line. But then we keep brining back Jordan Phillips and other retreads. 
 

Im encouraged by Carter as a rookie. But I’d still like a first or second rounder at DT.

I wonder about the inconsistencies on this defense. One week they crush the opponents running game, the next two weeks they get bashed. One week the pass rush and pressure is awesome, the next it disappears. That tells me the talent is there, so is it preparation or motivation?
