In case anyone missed it, Josh admitted it's true during his presser after practice today.  At 5:16 into the interview, someone asks Josh about the report that he's been playing with a broken hand, is that accurate?  Josh says "yeah, ah...(little smile) it's the left one so it doesn't really matter all that much"

Says his shoulder and elbow are a little sore from last game because he gave them too many opportunities to lay their hands and pads on him, just got to be smarter.

Actually, that would be pretty stupid to let it out of the bag now.

I think what that says is that it's pretty well healed at this point and the glove is just there for protection at this point.

Allen stopped showing up on the injury report for his hand in week 13; 11 weeks should be enough for a break to heal, but maybe not enough for the bone to come to full strength thus still wanting to protect it.

We all saw that glove he wore for 4 weeks with his middle two fingers taped together.  It was pretty obvious there was a break.

*shrug* having had several hand and finger injuries that did not involve broken bones, but that did involve tendon damage and that were splinted for long periods of time like, 12 weeks....was clear there was a hand injury, was not obvious to me what the injury was.

I think we all kinda knew this. Bills kept it on low. But the boo-boo is all better now. Not even wearing a glove

? thought Allen was wearing a glove on his left hand the last several games

(rummage) looked at NE highlights - yeah, Allen still wearing a glove.   Lions highlights, same.

My guess would be extra protection against opponents stomping on his hand, though it could also be he's been practicing and playing for 11-12 weeks with the thing so he didn't want to make a change.

Are we sure the defense hasn't been playing with a broken hand all year long???

Perhaps.  But they did recover a fumble, intercept a pass in our endzone, and recover a lateral in their endzone for a TD last week.

So perhaps it's healing up.

It happened when his elbow landed directly on his hand.  Agree could have been connective tissue too but the way it happened was a big clue.

Did he stop wearing it in games? I didnt actually look this past game. I know I've seen photos of him in practice not wearing it for weeks now but I thought he was still wearing it in games.

So you're saying Michael Jackson had a broken hand for years.

I just shoveled the driveway with 2 broken hands by that logic.

You are tougher than JA

The glove has changed through the weeks...early on it clearly had some hard protection in it and his middle two fingers were fused together by the glove.  Now it looks like "just a glove".  I think he said something about liking the glove....

Fair, I was just responding to the claim that the glove and the fingers taped together should tell everyone it's broken.

I'm sure your observation that the glove has changed is correct, but it doesn't look like the "just a glove" Kurt Warner and other QBs have worn - it still seems bigger and bulkier to me, and like it may have some protection in it still.

Maybe we will learn more after he season, that is possible for sure.  It seems equally likely that he has gotten used to having a glove on the left hand and he has learned to like it.  Gloves help with ball security....he likes the right hand bare but the left hand can have the glove.

That's what Kurt Warner settled on and it turned him from a guy who got benched in St Louis for fumbling 6 times in Week 1 (Warner had a broken hand as well), to a guy who had a career renaissance with Zona in 2008 2009

I'm sure having gotten comfortable with the glove and not wanting to make a switch the last couple weeks is a factor, but both things can be true; like I said, I don't see that as an ordinary glovie.
