Again am I wrong here or have the Pats baited Allen into that same throw several years in a row here?

It was a little underthrown but it would not have mattered if it was ' on target'.  Coleman was blanketed on the play and would have had to be in perfect position to win a jump ball between two defenders.  I think Josh knew in that situation no harm no foul because it's as good as a punt from that position on the field.  I'll take that kind of interception over the old wtf was he thinking throws any day of the week.

I’m dismissing him because he obviously isn’t doing enough to stay on field. It takes Coleman being out for him to even hit 50%.

if Cooper was playing like some world beater drawing extra coverage he’d be out there more often.

who said he's playing like a world beater?  No one.  But the film doesn't lie.  He is drawing double coverages throughout the game.  You can watch the ALL-22 to see that OR search for content online.  It's definitely out there.

Cooper drew Gonzallas (sp) who may be the best CB not on most peoples radar.

Christian Gonzales was matched up with Cooper nearly every time he was on the field, along with safety help rolling to his side.

None of the receivers had an impact yesterday.  Very strange game plan and looked like no one wanted to be out there.  The previous game in what was Cooper's no target game, the All-22 shows how the Lions rolled coverages his way all game and that absolutely freed up other guys underneath.  His impact is most certainly being felt and I do expect him to come up with a big game or two in the playoffs.  Just my gut feeling.

Go Bills!!!!

Shakir had an impact, but unfortunately it was mostly a negative impact.  Of course, I forgave him the second he recovered the onside kick that Quinton Morris nearly lost.

That said, Shakir typically makes those clutch catches for Josh when called upon, so I will chalk it up to the cold causing an off day.  This was a survive and advance kind of game.

It's also worth noting that the Bills have lost two games in the AFCE in each of the last two seasons, with some real clunkers:  two inexplicable losses to Zach Wilson, a stupid loss to Mac Jones, and the heatstroke game in Miami.  All four of them were lost by one score, all to garbage-ass teams.  Okay maybe they weren't all "garbage-ass," but they were clearly inferior to the Bills, as the other games proved.

This year they've played one-score games against all three teams even though none of them will make the playoffs.  But they've managed to win them all.  Imagine if they hadn't won any of them ... they'd be 9-6 and the division wouldn't even be clinched yet (they'd be just one game up on Miami with two divisional games yet to play).

Point is, they used to lose these games, but they found ways to win them this year.  Their one-score losses this year instead have been on the road to Houston (AFC South champs) and the Rams (likely NFC West champs) when those teams were playing at their peaks.  I can live with that.

Then he dropped a pass that hit him in both hands and stopped the clock in the 4th quarter.

Listening to the Bernard interview, McD, and some others.

Sounds like something was going around this week.   Congestion and stuffy noses.

Having a cold/flu cannot be fun to try and play/coach a game in 20 degree weather.

Just happy they pulled out the win.

Something nasty has been going around WNY for the last couple of weeks for sure.

I'm glad it's happening now and not in mid-January.

Yeah, it got my whole family...started with my youngest, then my oldest, then my wife and finally got me after my body was weakened post surgery.  First time I have gotten sick in like 5+ years.  Only really felt bad one day and had a 101 degree fever...was gone the next day and now it's just stuffy nose and coughing up crap although I feel perfectly fine.

It's times like these when I'm happy that both of our kids are grown and mostly out of the house, and that social distancing was a thing for me long before COVID :)

Really, after a month of high-profile games and playing at a high level, they just had a flat day.

Probably Allen's worst game of the year, but he still made plays when we needed 'em.  The only thing that kind of bums me out is how this likely set the MVP quest back.  He needs to rebound and have a great game this week, or it could slip away.

I was mad because my body has held strong for many years where everyone else in the house got sick except for me...and sometimes the original person who started it all got sick a 2nd time after it made the rounds(skipping me of course).  Not sure exactly the reason for my super immune system, but it's a source of pride 😂

Heck no...did you watch the Texan game where he went 9 for 30??

While the O wasn't sharp the big problem yesterday was the D's performance in the first half.  Those two long time consuming drives by the Pats never should have happened AT HOME. The reality is that the Pats had almost 250 yards and over 20 minutes of TOP in the first half.  This robbed the O of at least 2 and probably 3 possessions.  Sure the offense was sluggish but that was to be expected after 8 straight games of scoring 30 or more points.

Don't let special teams off the hook. It seems that every game, the net contribution of Smiley's game is negative. This time, they allowed a tone-setting big kickoff return to start the game and were caught sleeping on the fake punt. Makes me nostalgic for Levy's teams.

And like the O & D the ST also did some good stuff like a couple of punts to the 10 and a very important 50 yard FG to give Buffalo the lead for good.

I actually thought Allen looked sick during the game, like he was trying to force himself to find energy when he it wasn't there naturally.

He was also pale with dead eyes, which really made me wonder if the locker room got hit with something.

And just for the record, it was not 20 degrees up there yesterday. It was single digits most of the game and by the 4th quarter the windchill was likely below zero.

I was amused by the fact that nobody even really mentioned much about how cold it actually was.

This is the first game all year I thought Shakir played poorly, I am really hoping he is not the kind of guy who faded in the cold.

I think Smiley’s days are numbered.  McDermott mentioned special teams during his post game press conference and didn’t look pleased.  Between the kick coverage and the successful fake punt it wasn’t a good day.
