It's why Peyton Manning didn't win more rings. He kept so so coaches employed and they got outcoached in the playoffs. 

 

Jim "1000 yard state" Caldwell nearly had an undefeated season with Manning at QB.

It's almost like these guys are professional athletes and that this exact maneuver is an expectation for good corner play.
