CJ was a one year illusion that crashed and burned after defensive coordinators watched him on film. All of a sudden he’s not accurate, takes bad sacks and is so emotionally ill equipped to be an NFL QB, that he’s not capable of winning against good teams.

To be fair Stroud may be the most disappointing QB this season.  Sure folks had dreams of Rogers playing like an MVP but after a mediocre last year in GB, missing the next season with a nasty injury, and being over 40 didn't make it likely Rogers would return to form.  But there was no reason to think that Stroud wasn't going to get even better.

Yesterday's game didnt do anything but bolster the idea that Stroud and the Texans are soft. The Ravens bullied them all game and after that 4th down stop on the goal line before halftime, The Texans just folded physically and emotionally.

In the moment.

Justified reaction for a teammate.

In the moment... for a moment. But bro, you gotta get back out there. Take a breath and silo it while there is a job to do.

The Bills QB said during his weekly segment on “Kyle Brandt’s Basement” that the locker room appreciated the passion.

“Our guys fricking love seeing that,” Allen said. “I know people might be making a big deal out of it, but as players, we freaking love seeing that.”

Oh I'm aware. I was on Dorsey's side on that one and didnt think he lost the team. And have outlined why in subsequent posts.

I’m not going to go that far, but he is not the same player he was last year.

I understand you want to give young guys some latitude, especially high 1st round draft picks, but this guy shows poor judgment and his accuracy, which was special last season, is gone. Throw in an episode where he is inconsolable after watching a teammate go down with an injury, and plays the rest of the game like he’s checked out. To me, you don’t move on from him, but he has dropped in the pecking order of young QBs and really put a big ? on the Offensive Coordinator.

Maybe his success was a negative for him. Sometimes young players start listening to the glowing evaluations of the talking heads and stop working to improve. Josh didn’t have a great rookie season and went to work with QB coaches(Palmer) in the offseason and dedicated himself to improving. It didn’t hurt that he was really and genuinely talented.

Dell has had one hell of a difficult year or so.

Last season he broke his leg and missed the end of the year and playoffs. Then he got shot in the leg this past off-season. Then this gruesome knee injury.

It's a lot for one guy and his 2025 season is likely going to be affected too.

I can't understand people criticizing Stroud over this. His friend and teammate just had yet another season end due to a leg injury and any hope of a super bowl run just evaporated.

I mean it seems like there is some double standards here. If he was laughing and smiling, he doesn’t care. If he cries, he is soft.

I don’t think you should cry unless it’s a major game. But would I make fun of Allen for crying? Of course not. I like players who care.

You know Allen and Burrow told the coaches after the Hamlin thing they didn’t want to play right?

Stroud has regressed this year but that’s a dumb reason to criticize him.

I agree. And he wasn’t the same guy but Diggs injury was big. The. Collins got hurt. Now Dell.

big regression and disappointing year. I can see him rebounding next year though. But Houston is as disappointing of a playoff team as there is.

Hamlin was medically dead for a short period of time and that game was suspended. The entire stadium was in a state of stunned amazement and shock. No one was able to continue. Dell’s was a season ending knee injury.  I understand he was upset but these injuries happen every week to players. Stroud couldn’t play after that and couldn’t play yesterday. If your leader cannot rally the troops after a bad injury, the other young guys will throw in the towel, which is what the Texans are doing. That was only a knock on his leadership skills not the basis of my overall assessment.

Agreed but it’s his best friend having a gruesome injury and they aren’t robots. They weren’t beating the Chiefs anyways.

Just seems like piling on because he’s regressed this year.

These guys are just people like the unwashed masses that live and die with their team results. The only difference is QBs  demand a  hundred million over the course of their career if they get a second contract. They will walk away from any fanbase and not look back if  another team offers more money, no matter how much a community embraces their family. Why is it not allowed to criticize the leader and face of the franchise when he implodes after being totally demoralized by his teammates injury. So he is prioritizing his personal feelings over his team’s fortunes and the fanbase whose emotional and financial investment in the team is enormous.

Why does it have to be one or the other. Don't laugh, don't cry.

Was so impressed with him last year I drafted him in rd 5 or 6 in fantasy, dropped him weeks ago, he has been sitting on waivers ever since.

Unbelievable regression

The term "sophomore slump" exists for a reason.

Stroud also has seen his receiving group get devastated by injuries this year and has been dealing with a weak offensive line. We saw the struggles Allen had against the Ravens and Texans prior to getting Cooper to help open up the offense.

This is fair.

I sincerely hope that the $2.8 million that Dell's grossed so far has been allocated wisely.

As for comparisons to the Dorsey Meltdown, I'm not seeing the relevance.

Dorsey's  was an angry reaction to poor execution/outcome.

Stroud's was a traumatized reaction to a gruesome injury to a close friend.

Not seeing it.

I understand guys should be upset when one of their teammates goes down with such a gruesome injury, but Stroud's over the top antics seemed quite juvenile and unbecoming of a Captain of the Offense and a supposed leader of the team.

I counted at least 5 different teammates that had to come over and comfort him, trying to tell him to get it together with no success. he was crying so much, you would think he was actually the one injured......way to take the focus away from your injured teammate.

Anyone with any sense should have realized the cameras were going to be on you in that moment, and you need to keep it together and act like a leader....not to mention the fact that he played pretty poorly after the Dell injury.

I know a lot of Bills players had tears in their eyes during the Hamlin incident, but that was a completely different situation IMO.....they thought he died on the field.

I just thought it was a bad look and a little immature for the face of their franchise to carry on in that way.

Flame away!!!!!

I have read some really bad takes on this board over the years… This is by far the worst. These are real people with real relationships and friendships. They are slaves, gladiators, robots, aliens, or anything else. They are real people. Just absolutely gross that you clearly have no idea about the people that play the game for your entertainment. Good golly.

In an 11 page topic, if you read the topic from the beginning you'll invariably see that someone (or two, or three, or four, or five, or six, or seven, etc.) has already made the point that you're going to make.

Every single salient point on this discussion has probably already been made numerous times. But by all means, make your voice heard because everyone's voice should be heard, even if no one's voice is heard.

Because someone makes a point that's already been made 6-7 times previously that now gets buried... and then others who also haven't read through the topic rebut those posts making the same rebuttals that have been made 6-7 times previously.... so someone makes a point that's already been made 6-7 times previously that now gets buried... and then others who also haven't read through the topic rebut those posts making the same rebuttals that have been made 6-7 times previously.... then someone makes a point that's already been made 6-7 times previously that now gets buried... and then others who also haven't read through the topic rebut those posts making the same rebuttals that have been made 6-7 times previously... then someone makes a point that's already been made 6-7 times previously that now gets buried... and then others who also haven't read through the topic rebut those posts making the same rebuttals that have been made 6-7 times previously.... so someone makes a point that's already been made 6-7 times previously that now gets buried... and then others who also haven't read through the topic rebut those posts making the same rebuttals that have been made 6-7 times previously.... then someone makes a point that's already been made 6-7 times previously that now gets buried... and then others who also haven't read through the topic rebut those posts making the same rebuttals that have been made 6-7 times previously...

🙃

I was just about to write the exact same thing.
