DrDawkinstein Posted yesterday at 04:35 PM Posted yesterday at 04:35 PM (edited) Most of this board lit up Ken Dorsey for his outburst of emotion after the Miami game, and how it was horrible leadership and how he likely lost the team by showing he cant keep it together. Same thing, but even more so here. Has little/nothing to do with it being crying. Any uncontrollable emotional state is a bad look. Same thing if he had been angry and unable to get past it. Good point. Simply stated optics matter and more so as a leader. Power dynamics don't disappear just because a person is good or has empathy. Edited yesterday at 04:38 PM by Kelly to Allen Quote

The opportunity for ppl around you to question your internal fortitude. It's not fair but look at the thread. Imagine if it was something serious in life? Again Tony soprano, General Patton. Never show weakness Tony Soprano isn't a real person. 4 hours ago, DrDawkinstein said: Most of this board lit up Ken Dorsey for his outburst of emotion after the Miami game, and how it was horrible leadership and how he likely lost the team by showing he cant keep it together. I guess you never watched much MLB where managers lose it all the time when arguing with umpires. Go look up Earl Weaver, Billy Martin, Lou Pinella and their antics that caused them to get thrown out of games. The reason they did this was to fire up their teams and often times they got the desired effect. 1 Quote

The reason they did this was to fire up their teams and often times they got the desired effect. Couple of things. First, that is a time honored tradition and part of baseball. The players expect it and know it's part of the show. Total different game and traditions and expectations. Same way if a player was ejected for throwing a punch, we wouldnt say "guess you've never seen hockey where players throw punches all the time". Second, I was not someone critical of Dorsey on his outburst, I'm just calling out the board hypocrisy. I was fine with Dorsey because it was 1. emotion shown in trying to win the game and 2. away from everyone up in the booth and 3. anger is more easily excused in sports than... whatever emotion you want to call what Stroud was dealing with yesterday. Now, if Dorsey had an outburst during the middle of the game and then couldnt properly call plays the next coiple of series, then he should be criticized. Hence, I am questioning Stroud but not Dorsey. Edited 21 hours ago by DrDawkinstein 1 Quote

To be fair. sometimes I think Billy Martin was just hungover and wanted to go lie down..or have another one. 1 Quote
BillsFanForever19 Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago He's an emotional guy. Tank Dell is his best friend. And he just watched his best friend, who's dealt with major injuries before, possibly have his career ended. Compunding that, he's also lost Stefon Diggs and losing Dell as well severely hampens their Super Bowl aspirations. I don't blame him for being upset. 1 Quote
