We've never really had the opportunity to have one of these before.

Thought there might be some interest even though it's not the NFL.

As always, please keep the Bills commentary out of here and in the dozens of other Bills threads so we don't sidetrack this one.

Ohio State has the talent. Their path is pretty tough. 

 

I think Georgia has QB issues

 

Oregon is a real possibility and I love Gabriel at QB ...

 

I think Ohio State will win it if I had to pick.

I hate ND but their path now that Beck is out could get them to the final. Not sure they have the offense but their defense is legit. 
 

I think Texas is soft but their road to the semis is easy. Should run out against a very good Oregon team. 
 

I think it will be Oregon vs Penn State/Notre Dame

I cannot trust Ryan Day; I think he's dumber than a chicken.

Agreed on everything else.

Gabriel is the perfect college QB and I think Oregon is probably the best team in the tournament.

I also think they got kind of screwed in the bracket though; they have to deal with both OSU and Texas while a weaker GA team gets Notre Dame and Penn State.

Couldn’t understand some of the decisions by Indiana 

 

couple times in enemy territory on third and 5 and such and they run up the middle ….

Maybe not this game for PSU

 

But as a PSU fan I’m get more frustrated with coach Franklin than I do McDermott 

 

boneheaded decision making kills me on Saturdays and Sundays 

 

I see them winning this week but vs a true opponent he can’t beat them

The only dogs they can't run with are OSU and Oregon; arguably the two best programs in the country and they're one score behind both of them.

I've been looking forward to seeing them play some top teams outside their conference and this tournament should fill the bill. SMU is a tricky matchup, but I think they're better all around and have a really nice path to a championship game (where they'll probably lose by one score again )

I will admit, I'd love to see SMU or Boise State make a run to the finals by beating SEC and Big 10 teams to see all the talking heads explode especially at ESPN. It would be hilarious if Boise State won it all.

The Fighting Irish  football program is very connected to my family. My husband is the biggest Domer fan ever. Alumni class of 77

 

This is a true story. I went into labor with my 2nd child the day Notre Dame played USC in 1988.  and on to win the national championship that same season.

 

It's a boy!

 

So we needed to decide what  our sons name would be.  We had picked out top 3 name choices  and decided to chose the top 2 and make one first the 2nd middle name.

 

Later that day when he announced the name his sister was aghast. "I can't believe you named your son after the Notre Dame monogram  N D

 

I said "aww hell naw that was NOT intentional"  Hubby says We are NOT changing the name. And we didn't. lol

 

I just think it's a cute story

My Dawgs are weaker and wounded but if they hunker down they could win some squeakers.  They are SEC battle tested, and since they haven’t been killed, they must be stronger, and they are definitely hairy.  Don’t count’em out.

I almost wonder if you haven't accidentally stumbled into an upgrade at QB.

That ND/IU game was so bad.  IU was either shook or a mediocre team that lucked into an easy schedule.  Probably both. 
 

Shane Gillis vs Nick Saban was the only interesting part of the evening. 
 

For all the talk about Indiana having an easy schedule, SMU & Texas had similar schedules. 
 

Unlike Indiana though, SMU was at least competitive against their good opponent — Clemson.. and while Clemson wasn’t some great team all season, they did play SEC darling South Carolina down to the wire and lost on a fluky tipped pass interception.

Alabama is a better team than PSU, SMU, and Indiana. I understand why they are out but they have more talent than those three teams.

If Ohio State survives today, the championship will be decided when Ohio State faces Oregon in the next round  

 

Curious, NCAA Basketball has Sweet 16, Elite 8, and Final Four.  Anyone know if these initial rounds have nicknames yet?

I’m flipping around with the Xavier basketball vs Marquette game too. What a busy Saturday!
