OK but if Pitt loses to KC and Ravens win last two, they'd then have 5 losses and would win division.  So if Bills rest their starters week 17 and 18 and lose, wouldn't' that then give the Ravens the #2 seed as both have 5 losses and Ravens beat Bills? If Ravens lose to Texans then last two weeks mean nothing for Bills

I'll go out on a limb right now and say that once the game is safely in the bag for KC, the refs will call a couple flags on the Chiefs to even out the box score.

Nothing I saw today from Lamar said MVP. If anything it said Henry is the MVP and Lamar is the beneficiary of playing with him.

Major holding there by Houston in KC's own stadium leads to a TD.   You hate to see that.

It’s more likely they’d increase the playoffs number to 8 along with an 18 regular games season. Then the numbers would work for the #1 and #2 seeds getting byes.

Gosh - just more watering down.

 

None of this expansion leads to good football.

 

MLB used to have an elite Playoff setup with 1-Wilcard.

 

The NBA and their goofy Play-In.

 

The NFL now allowing a 7th team in that usually has 7-8 losses.

 

We’ve seen this 12-team college Playoff has led to nothing but blowouts so far.

there would then be 5 teams going forward to the 2nd round, wouldn’t there?  (1 and 2 seeds, plus the winner of  the 3-8, 4-7, and 5-6 games).

The numbers wouldn’t work.   Assuming the 1 and 2 seed get a bye, that would leave 6 teams fighting for 3 spots in the next round.  That would leave one team without an opponent in the next round.  lol. Would have to go to a 10 team format to make this work, or just go back to the 6 teams like it used to be.

Glad the Ravens won.  It wouldn't have surprised me if the Steelers would have rested their starters the rest of the way (including Wednesday vs KC) had they won tonight and locked up the AFC North.  Now, with the Ravens right on their heels, they are going to play their starters and be a lot hungrier for a win the rest of the way.

During the KC game that fumble / roughing BS call.
 

What really bothered me was the flag thrown was for illegal touching and you can clearly see in the video the flag was thrown at the lineman which the pass hit. 
 

That means the eye in the sky made the call and my understanding is they could only assist on calls that were made.

 

Example if a flag was for roughing the passer they could say if it was or wasn’t but they couldn’t call down and get the call enforced if a ref didn’t call it. 
 

We have seen plenty of these face mask on QBs not called.
 

Ithere was one on Darnold in the end zone and a couple other situations like this ignored. Now they might say this is face mask but I believe I have seen other that were just head contact

Not really. It’s great to be able to rest some players and all, but the real benefit of the bye is only having to win one game to reach the AFC title game. It’s just a much easier path to a Super Bowl appearance.

The entire play was driving me nuts because of that one fact. The flag was thrown at the lineman the ball hit for illegal touching.

 

a flag was never thrown for roughing the passer so how was it called?

It’s getting harder and harder to watch football games other than the Bills. I trained my wife to love the Bills,  and I love that she does. It’s nice going to game and her knowing all the players if I missed something or I can’t see. ***** hate  how she wants to watch every ***** game she can though.

Watering down aside, as Bills fans we should hope for this change to happen ASAP. The worst part of the expanded playoffs for the Bills is the elimination of the bye for the 2 seed. This year it appears they will be the 2 yet again. I’d venture the Bills would have reached a Super Bowl with Allen already if they had been awarded the previously standard bye week.

Oh, for sure. But the Ravens offense is considerably better than the Chiefs offense.

Unless Bills win tomorrow and Ravens and Steelers lose Christmas Day.  Then #1 seed out and #2 seed locked.
