Dropping beer prices might ironically cut down on drunkenness.

I'll bet a lot of fans wouldn't hammer down 10+ beers in the parking lot before the game even starts if they knew they didn't have to shell out $15 bucks for each one they ordered in the stadium.

What riles you?  The price, or the vernacular? 😁

The vernacular because you can't control the prices.

I remember in the 80's growing up in WNY. Hills had 10¢ (or was it 15¢?) hotdogs and 5¢ sodas one day a year. That was super cheap, even back then. My grandfather took me there and told me to go hog wild. He kept on asking me if I wanted more hotdogs, lol. I was full, but got one more to make him happy.

(And the location will remain undisclosed because sometimes Bills fans give me a hard time when I say where.)

Pegula wouldn’t do this in a hundred years.  There is a lifestyle that needs to be maintained.

He can't. The Bills are one of the lowest-valued franchises in football.

Did it really cost $8.50 for a bottle of water before?

I've gone to a few Suns games in the last couple years.  It's ridiculously expensive.

Innocent question... what's technically the difference between a hot dog and a vienna sausage? Also what's the smallest hot dog roll currently being manufactured?

They should be charged with price gouging. It's ridiculous, Doesn't the community pay enough.

Yeah, but no one is forcing the fans to attend or buy food.

The concessions at Mercedes Benz Stadium in ATL are actually pretty sweet. I haven't gone for a Falcons game, but I've been to a handful of ATL United games. Prices are reasonable, the concourse is spacious and walkable, given that Coca-Cola is local all of the soft drinks come with free refills, the quality of the food is pretty reasonable for a stadium (it's absolutely gourmet if you're using the dog food that's served at Highmark as a comparison), and the beer is reasonably priced. A family can get by with a similar budget to going to the movies (ticket price notwithstanding). My wife is from NOLA and wanted to hate the place, but she absolutely loved it.

On top of that, much of the building is powered with solar energy, so it has the smallest carbon footprint of any stadium in the country, apparently.

Hills hot dogs were on rollers under heat lamps ick reminiscent of Convenient store food but I did enjoy their popcorn and icees.

So I guess I'll be that guy.  If you go out to eat and order a soda, what would you expect to pay at a typical casual sit-down restaurant?  $3.49 is typical now - double that and you get $7, which is the pricing you'll find at many stadiums across the country.  Beer is similar - it's $6-$7 for a typical premium domestic like Blue Moon and you'll find it around $14 at the stadium.  I expect to pay about double at a stadium than I would in the "real world" for the identical item... and that ratio still seems to be holding from what I've seen.

I don't excuse it, but I also think it's indicative of wider scale inflation.

Highest i saw at an event was 24 dollar 16 oz beer at a concert.  might have been cmac

Just making the point that regardless of the cost of the food/non-alcoholic drinks, they are going to upcharge 500% and make that money back hand over fist.

Sabres charge $10 for a 16oz labatt blue when a 6 pack is $8.

You're right, I probably saved money that day.
