T master Posted Thursday at 04:47 PM Posted Thursday at 04:47 PM In the beginning of this season it seemed as if there were a couple of players that had proven they were very productive players in the recent past for the Bills but in some ways seemed all but forgotten in the Bills offense . I thought because of other draft picks that these players would stay as a after thought and eventually get tired of not being utilized and want to move on but after the last game i hope have found new life . The 2 players that i speak of that in seasons past had proved they were important weapons in the Bills offense are TY Johnson & Dawson Knox . It seemed as if due to the Bills drafting Kincaid, & Davis that Brady had forgotten exactly what he had in these 2 and had turned his focus elsewhere, but the last couple of games both stood tall to prove their worth to this team if they want to go to possibly win a Lombardi . These 2 players have shown that they have what some have called that Bills DNA !! Both are willing to do what ever they can to help the team & i for one wouldn't mind seeing both of them retire in the Bills red, white & Blue ! Seeing as Brady wasn't the OC when Knox put up his 9 TD season a few years back and was thrown into the mix last season with the likes of Kincaid as their highly touted draft pick used him much more than Knox, then with the acquisition of Davis this last draft Ty although very productive last year seemed to have the same fate to be pushed aside & both were a after thought until last week . Brady has every thing he needs as far as weapons at his disposal to create the high powered offense to out score most any opponent and last week i hope the light was so bright that Brady continues to utilize these guys moving forward ! It can do nothing but help to have both of these guys producing along with the other weapons they have and i hope they can lock these guys down to stay with the Bills for as long as their skills are still at a high level to help the Bills bring home the all elusive Lombardi that they seek . Keep calling these guys numbers and using these weapons of mass production to destroy the opponents defense's while on this journey to the promise land filled with dreams of Lombardi's dancing in our trophy case at 1 Bills Drive !! GO BILLS !!! 4 2 Quote
3rdand12 Posted Thursday at 04:52 PM Posted Thursday at 04:52 PM The everybody eats mentality is real in Buffalo with this offense. they play The "On Any Sunday" type of football. Gotta credit Allen and his patience and the Coaching Staff this season ! Starts with McBrady 3 2 Quote
Dillenger4 Posted Thursday at 05:19 PM Posted Thursday at 05:19 PM Ty Johnson is nowhere near "all but forgotten" by the Bills or Brady. He has been a consistent contributor and back-up to Cook. Last season he made one of the game winning catches vs Miami week 17. He consistently makes plays for us when called upon. We call him "Freddie" in my house because he is similar to Fred Jackson in that Freddie was used sparsely at the beginning of his time with the Bills. But every time he touched the ball, fans would freak out as he was powerful! Ty is the same. Brady will be using him a lot more moving forward. How can you not? 5 2 Quote
folz Posted Thursday at 06:33 PM Posted Thursday at 06:33 PM To be honest, Ty was a guy that I didn't think much of after his time with the Jets. He made a few nice plays for us last year, but with the team drafting Davis, he was definitely an after thought to me and I wouldn't have been upset if he got lost in the numbers. But I was wrong. I don't care what his overall stats look like (though no one is turning up their nose at 5 TDs), the kid has been ballin' and I'm glad he is a Bill. As for Dawson, didn't kick up any fuss when Kincaid was drafted, instead, took him under his wing and continued to grind. Glad to see he's getting his moments to shine also, with so many other weapons. EVERYBODY EATS RIGHT? top receiver/top rusher Players who scored a TD (other than Allen) week 1 Coleman/Cook Shakir, Hollins, Cook week 2 Shakir/Cook Cook week 3 Shakir/Allen Cook, Davis, Johnson, Shakir, Coleman, Kincaid week 4 Shakir/Cook Johnson week 5 Coleman/Cook Cook, Coleman week 6 Davis/Davis Knox, Hollins week 7 Coleman/Davis Davis, Cook, Cooper, Johnson week 8 Shakir/Cook Cook, Coleman, Kincaid week 9 Davis/Cook Davis, Hollins, Morris week 10 Hollins/Cook Cook week 11 Shakir/Allen Cook, Samuel week 12 Knox/Cook Cook, Davis, Hollins week 13 Shakir/Allen Shakir, Hollins, Johnson week 14 Johnson/Cook Cook, Shakir, Davis -Fourteen players have caught a pass from Josh this season (including himself) -Eleven different players have caught a TD pass from Josh this season -Josh has eight games where he has hit 9 or more receivers in the game -Josh has three games where he hit 10 different receivers (and he does not have a game where he has hit fewer than 7 different receivers) How could the players not buy in? Everyone is getting their moments to shine, while the team is winning. 5 Quote

Knox's contract runs through 2026 so two more seasons. Johnson is a FA this spring. For the right price (always the qualifier for almost any running back) I'd like to see him back. 2 Quote

GASabresIUFan Posted Thursday at 07:17 PM Posted Thursday at 07:17 PM (edited) Love the thread title. Apparently everyone eats works with the right QB, targets and OC. Still waiting for the big Curtis Samuel game. Edited Thursday at 07:20 PM by GASabresIUFan Quote

To not only get them to buy in, but to stick to it and execute it like they have, its just an infectious way to play football at any level of football. Quote

LABILLBACKER Posted Thursday at 09:09 PM Posted Thursday at 09:09 PM The hardest thing for an opposing DC is the challenges of trying to gameplan 8 or 9 different players. All of which can burn you at any given moment. All Spags had to do was shutdown Diggs. Now watcha gonna do Spags? Allen Cook Shakir Cooper Coleman Kincaid Knox Davis Johnson Hollins ....10 guys you gotta account for... 1 Quote

You know Brady is saving the "Samuel game" for the playoffs. Quote

The early injury and complete lack of chemistry with Josh has pretty much sealed his fate. An expensive experiment that so far hasn't panned out. We'll be ok, those 10 I listed pose more than enough issues for a DC's game planning. On a side note if there's going to be a secret weapon unleashed in the playoffs it's likely going to be Amari Cooper. Edited Thursday at 10:50 PM by LABILLBACKER Quote

DC's aren't spending time figuring out how to shut down any more than a couple players on offense. Realistically, more like just 1. Think of Belichick's defensive approach.......he took away the best player and challenged the opponent to succeed anyway. For the Bills, that guy is now Amari Cooper. If you are willing to attempt deep throws to Ty Johnson defense's will concede that matchup and hope the passes fall incomplete. Just like they let MVS and Hollins run free outside the numbers prior to the Cooper trade. Quote
DaVinci Posted Friday at 12:00 AM Posted Friday at 12:00 AM I always thought when Allen figures it out he would be on another level, well he figured it out. Quote
