Sure there are some non-starters on there, but trying to downplay the extent of their injuries is crazy. Hutchinson had 7.5 sacks in 5 games. If he was the only Lion on IR it would still be a significant loss. McNeill and Davenport are other significant losses on their D-Line. Anzalone, Barnes, Rodriguez, and Reeves-Maybin are 4 of their top 5 LBs. Cominsky, Melifonwu, and Davis were starters or valuable depth. Decimated is the only way to describe that defense. Quote

But, to be fair, Detroit’s D has been decimated by injury. That wasn’t the best D in the league that trotted out there on Sunday. Even badly wounded, Detroit's D is still considerably better than the Giants' D. Quote

It was more like the Bills defense was decimated with injuries. Their best player is on IR and weren't they down their top 3 CBs?? I don't care either way. I'm not giving McDermott any injury excuses so Detroit gets none either. It's still 11 on 11. 1 Quote

Hutchinson was replaced with Zadarius Smith during the trade deadline Davenport was lost week 1 and Paschal has been the starter since Davis went down vs us, but he was replaced with Vildor who started last year Anzalone was lost but Long has started in the NFL and was playing well for Detroit. Their other starting lb is Campbell. Same for Turner and Nieman as depth McNeil went down vs us but Levi Onzurwrike has started for them and had dominant moments. They got a lot of guys back on their dline vs us Obviously they have had some rough injuries, especially with hutch. But when they traded for zadarius Smith they were dominating teams with the guys that played us It was vs the Packers that they had a ton of backups playing. They got like 4 starting dlineman back and a couple others back when they faced us The lions team that we faced was for the most part dominating everyone. strive_for_five_guy Posted Wednesday at 07:07 PM Posted Wednesday at 07:07 PM This will give Josh his 15th POW so far in his career, tied for 26th with the likes of Steve Young, Marshall Faulk, etc. Link below is not updated for that yet. All QBs ahead of Josh are either in the HOF or not eligible yet, except for Boomer Esiason. Good company to be in. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/leaders/potw_career.htm 2 Quote
Sweats Posted Wednesday at 07:25 PM Posted Wednesday at 07:25 PM Larry in my office (our office Ravens fan) is not happy about this.......not one bit. I'm willing to go out on a limb here and say we got ourselves a pretty good player right there.........i'm referring to JA, not Larry in my office. 1 4 Quote
Gilberto Posted Wednesday at 07:27 PM Posted Wednesday at 07:27 PM "This marks the 8th time this season a Bill has been named player of the week, which marks the most in a single season in team history." I love how the narrative prior to the season was how we had no stars (other than JA) and this was a rebuilding year blah blah etc... It just goes to show that it's best to tune out the media and just watch the games. 1 Quote

machine gun kelly Posted Wednesday at 07:48 PM Posted Wednesday at 07:48 PM I’m always happy for Josh, but these records are piling up. It’s wonderful. I’ll repeat what I e said before, how about we win the SB, Josh gets SB MVP, and MVP for the season. Quote

Still shaking my head at that one. I'd argue Jackson deserved it this week more than Chase did last week. Quote

Absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying every bit of this great Josh Allen era of Bills football. Including any and all accolades that come the way of Bills players. The NFL world’s championship won’t take place until February. So take the wet blanket elsewhere. Bills fans deserve to savor these years after 17 years of NFL irrelevance. 2 Quote

I was that guy during the SB in the 90s, I never appreciated the ride and solely focused on winning the last game of the year. I told myself I wasn’t making that mistake again, I’m loving everything about the Allen era and I’m soaking up every bit of it… the SB will be amazing when it happens, but along the way I’m living my best life watching this Cyborg. 2 1 1 1 Quote
Sierra Foothills Posted Wednesday at 09:56 PM Posted Wednesday at 09:56 PM This is the 3rd time Josh has been named AFC OPOTW. It's the 14th time in 108 regular season weeks (12.97%) that he's been so honored. Significantly it came on the same weekend that Lamar Jackson threw for more TDs (5) than incompletions (4) and finished and posted a QB rating of 154.6. This marks the seventh time in his NFL career that Jackson has thrown more TDs than incompletions in a game... breaking a tie with Peyton Manning and Drew Brees. Incidentally Jackson has won OPOTW 13 times in 100 games. Not that I disagree with the decision but it makes me wonder how/who determines the league's weekly awards. Quote

If you want to be baffled by how OPOW is chosen, just look at last week where Josh, Stafford and Nacua all missed out. 1 Quote
