djp14150 Posted Saturday at 06:22 PM Posted Saturday at 06:22 PM ESPN has a story on this. with Penix getting the start there was talk if cousins is done with Atlanta by many. in March his contract has a $10 M roster bonus due. They might cut him before that. with the contract and cap hits therr are difference between buy out in March or June and actually trading him elsewhere. if the trade him, the places I see him going to are ( depends entirely on money owed and cap hit) Raiders, Jets and Titans as starters , a few other teams as a vet backup behind a rookie contract QB ( wash, carolina, Indy, return to MIN?) Also Cousins has a no trade clause. He will almost certainly force his release. The Falcons will have to comply to avoid an additional $10M becoming guaranteed by them. 9 minutes ago, mannc said: Only if they get Cousins on a Russell Wilson-Steelers contract… His contract has offsets so there is no reason he wouldn’t take a vet minimum deal. 1 Quote
Big Turk Posted Sunday at 01:20 PM Posted Sunday at 01:20 PM Wonder how long before they replace one letter in his last name and start calling him that if he doesn't live up to the hype. 🤣🤣 Quote

This ensures that Cousins won't have another employer in the NFL. But with the bank account he has from this contract & the ghosts of contracts past i think he'll sleep just fine with visions of Beamers running through his head ! 1 Quote

Raiders and Titans I could totally see. I would even throw the Giants in the mix. I don't see him taking a backup role with Washington. After what he's put on tape this year, he could just as easily price himself out of what teams think he's worth and end up on an NFL morning show like Matt Ryan by next year. Quote

The Browns can't afford the cap hit if they cut Watson but everybody has seen enough of him. Cousins would step in as presumptive starter. 1 Quote

Not really, if they cut him, they are on the hook for no more than any other team at QB next year, Penix just has to perform. 1 hour ago, Billy Claude said: Cousins has connections with Stefanski. I could see Clev, NYJ, Pitt, NO, etc all being a place with enough talent to compete and the need for a starter. Cleveland is an interesting option as they need a real QB and they can’t cut their giant mistake, so it makes a lot of sense. Wilson is younger than Cousins and had no significant injury history. And, unlike Cousins, Wilson in the not too distant past, was a bona fide, Super Bowl-winning franchise quarterback. Even with all that, Wilson was available for free and was not handed the starting job in Pittsburgh. In fact, he started the season on the bench, behind Justin Fields... Quote
