In this case, explosive plays. Steph's now infamous tweet is one of the most delicious lines I can remember from a Buffalo diva and malcontent.

Yes, Stephon. We are sure you are not essential to Allen's success. Very, very sure. Feeding a team of unselfish players who are good to very good but not great is yielding better results than forcing balls to a top-five receiver.

 

Here are some highlights from a paywall article from Buff news:
 

The Bills have 52 pass plays of 20 or more yards, which is tied with Detroit for second in the NFL.
 

Last season, the Bills had 49 such passes in 17 games, which ranked 19th in the league. (Explosive pass plays are down a small percentage leaguewide this year.)
 

Josh Allen has improved his yards per attempt average from 7.4 last season to 8.0 this season, the highest figure of his career. Allen is eighth in the league in yards per attempt. Allen’s yards per completion is 12.3, sixth best in the league and the best of his career. Allen was 12th in yards per completion last year at 11.3.
 

The big increase in receiving yards this season has come from yards after the catch, led by slot receiver Khalil Shakir.

He ranks second among NFL wide receivers in yards after catch at 588 yards, behind only Cincinnati’s Ja’Marr Chase (688 yards).

Shakir having 588 YAC on 774 total yards is insane.

 

I think the team misses Diggs on one specific front which is winning on a route and being a man-beater on 3rd downs.  But this has so far been a non issue due to the combination of Joe Brady scheming players open and Josh improvising.

The offense feels so different. With Dorsey it felt like every play was “try Stef or Gabe, if not open begin insane Josh Allen stuff”

 

This offense feels like it creates bad matchups for other teams no matter what they do.

It seems like most of our passes the last few years have been to receivers who ran a route, stopped, and waited for the pass.  Hard to get YAC that way.  Now, Josh is hitting receivers in stride.  Much better, unless you need just a few yards for a first down.

I don't think you can conclude our improved RAC is attributable to getting rid of Diggs & eliminating the need to cater to his strengths.  I happen to think the primary factor is a shift in offensive "style" in that even in the latter 1/2 of the year once Brady replaced Dorsey (a time when Shakir outperformed Diggs), it was still primarily Dorsey's offense which for the most part lacked completions where a receiver had good opportunity for RAC.

As much as many of us find Steph annoying, there is greater context to this thread — the Bills' explosive play performance in light of letting go a (regular-season) top-five receiver. 

The "you sure" comment and subsequent reference just makes it extra special. Steph is the one who first implied Josh wasn't as good without him; we now have factual evidence to the contrary. I think we are more than entitled to discuss and enjoy a little fun in light of everything.
