Brand J Posted December 18 Posted December 18 Let me first say that I’m a wuss when it comes to the cold. Don’t like it, never have. My sister and her fiancé are converted Bills fans thanks to my fandom and wanted to go to the Jets game before getting married in Niagara Falls on the 31st. I wish she would’ve consulted with me before buying tickets, because I would’ve been perfectly happy to watch in a warm Bills bar! In the past we parked in Hammer’s Lot and chowed down on Rande’s strombolis, but given the new stadium’s usage of space, how challenging is parking nowadays? God forbid if there’s snow on the ground taking up additional room. Would it be wiser to take an Uber to the game? If so, is there a designated pickup/drop off spot? Lastly, how does a non-drinker who hates the cold get through a 4 hour December game in Buffalo? 😅 Quote

Do you live in WNY or somewhere else where you would periodically use heated clothing? The Bills partner with Fieldsheer for heated clothing but there are other suppliers as well. https://fieldsheer.com/pages/buffalo-bills-partnership?gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADqWfK16ubEOJxinv2qiU6L7rOXWK&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIrN2i8texigMV9UlHAR2Rmxl8EAAYBCAAEgIOo_D_BwE Best to be as comfortable as possible when attending a game in frigid conditions. Head to the concessions to pick up a hot chocolate periodically since you are not drinking alcohol. Concessions also offer a Fireball hot chocolate if others with you are so inclined. After the game, head to Louie’s Texas Red Hots on Southwestern just a very short distance from the stadium to have a hot meal and wait out the traffic. 1 Quote

Hope it's not windy or raining on game time or it going to be uncomfortable. 1 Quote

I’m in Southern California, wish I could get further use out of that heated apparel. Thanks for the other tips on braving the cold! 6 minutes ago, The Jokeman said: Wear warm socks, have good snow boots and wear a few layers to keep the cold off the body, wear a warm knit hat or ski mask to keep you're face warm and have gloves and handwarmers. My worst nightmare is wet and wind to add to the cold, in that case I’ll just skip going and catch it at a sports bar. What about the ride share versus parking now that the other stadium is going up? I always advocate parking as ride sharing is tough on game days between all the cars in parking lot and connecting with a driver, if don't feel like driving then try https://metro.nfta.com/schedules/game-day-express 1 1 Quote

Ride share to get TO the stadium is probably fine, but executing your exit may be much more problematic. What driver in their right mind would intentionally drive INTO that stadium traffic trying to get away from the lots? Where would you meet them? How far from the stadium are you willing to walk to make pickup easier? I was there for the opener and parking at Hammers seemed fairly normal (arriving at 7:00am) to me despite being right next to the new stadium. Good luck with the weather. I haven’t been to a December game in Buffalo in many years. I may be getting too old for that. . Edited December 18 by Augie 1 1 Quote

Legit gloves; not the cheapest thing you can find at Walmart. (mittens are actually better than gloves; keeping your fingers together makes a difference) Layers. Go for a quick walk up and down the steps every few drives to keep the blood moving. Layers. 1 Quote
Wacka Posted December 18 Posted December 18 (edited) Newspaper to put on seat and on the cement unsder your feet ( a Bee box - a free community paper is a good source) for insulstion. Went to the -20 chill factor game many years ago. Three layers clothes and chemical hand warmers were a must. DO NOT try a Tyvek suit. Keeps out the rain /snow, but keeps IN the sweat. Made that mistake ONCE. Edited December 18 by Wacka 1 Quote
RkFast Posted Friday at 07:53 PM Posted Friday at 07:53 PM Those chemical foot/toe, hand and body warmers are a Godsend. Bring two sets...one for the tailgate (if you get there super early) and then put on a new set right before you go into the game. https://grabberwarmers.com/ 1 Quote
