He’ll say they were giving them a choice to sign with the team they wanted, rather than deciding for the player via a trade. Beane did something like this when it was time for Shady to go. Shady got himself onto the Chiefs and finally got a ring. He didn't hurt the Bills in any game, and as far as I'm concerned that was a great move by everyone. Players around the league watch how particular teams treat players, and that Shady move made the Bills look really good. Quote

They pretty much just gave him away for free. Highly doubt other teams (especially losing ones) would’ve been acquiring about Tre, just like I highly doubt the Rams would’ve refused better offers. I mean, I dunno. The trade was for a 2026 7th round, (which is next to nothing), and they got a 2027 7th round back, (which, I think can be justly argued that you are correct, they got nothing.) It was clear Tre was probably still rehabbing that Achilles, and it's not impossible he might have something left after rehab completes. I think it's possible that a team with a bad secondary that's trying to rebuild might have offered a 2026 7th without requiring a 2027th 7th back, or even a 2025 7th. F aced with getting next to nothing vs. getting nothing, the Rams decided to take the offer that was best for the player. 1 Quote

I think he makes a difference on the previous drive, the long Hill catch and run where the corner took the wrong angle on him (forget if it was Wallace or Jackson now). One of the things peak Tre White was awesome at was angles of approach. He was just so fundamentally sound. If Tre had played that game, I don't think it even gets to that point. Quote

In the sense that 4 cents is a better offer than 3 cents, but that doesn’t mean accepting the better offer is a given. Quote

Levi Wallace/dane Jackson starting at corner against the peak offense chiefs is wild…idk why that doesn’t get talked about much. Chiefs lost mathieu eventually too which opened the floodgates for both teams. Sorensen was straight up a** lol I don’t know that I’ve seen a worse game from a safety 1 Quote

Right, we both agree it's unlikely LA was offered a 2025 5th or 6th and turned it down to swap 2026 and 2027 7ths. But I can see them taking 3 cents instead of 4 cents to help build goodwill with players and agents by sending Tre White to a contender. Quote

Getting burned for that TD was best case scenario for us. The alternative was Mahomes milks the clock and scores anyway. We needed them to score fast. The real disaster happened in those 13 seconds. We had gotten 2 stops plus 3 limits to a FG (1 missed), which is why we had a chance at the end, anyway We needed another stop I do see your point that if we weren't getting a stop, having the Chiefs score relatively quickly was better for the Bills than a methodical grind down the field, but it's not the "best case scenario for us."
