Big Turk Posted Wednesday at 02:23 PM Posted Wednesday at 02:23 PM (edited) Love this dude...This is awesome and gives some good insights into some past history of events... Vontae Davis told him on the sideline "Yeah, young boo...I think I'm done...I ain't got it no more...this is a young man's game...I'm done" 😂😂 Said Davis was done with like 3 minutes left in the 2nd quarter and told him and Frazier he wasn't going back in, not at halftime. Said him and Shady called him on Facetime the next day and went over to his house and he answered the door with a huge glass of wine and Shady was like "Oh you gonna take like a week off and be back right?" nad Davis is like "Nah, man..I'm done, ain't nothing they can do...it's a young man's game...you Shady McCoy, you "Cut on a Dime", but you gonna know what I'm saying one day...you gonna make that cut and them young boys ain't goin' for it no more and you'll know it's that time." Tre said they were dying laughing... Edited Wednesday at 02:31 PM by Big Turk 1 1 Quote
GunnerBill Posted Wednesday at 02:28 PM Posted Wednesday at 02:28 PM Not only do I think a fully healthy Tre White makes a difference on that final Chiefs drive in the 13 second game.... I think he makes a difference on the previous drive, the long Hill catch and run where the corner took the wrong angle on him (forget if it was Wallace or Jackson now). One of the things peak Tre White was awesome at was angles of approach. He was just so fundamentally sound. 1 1 Quote

It's been some terrible luck from 20-23 In the 20 AFC championship all our wrs were seriously hurt. Edited Wednesday at 02:37 PM by Kelly to Allen Quote

Solomon Grundy Posted Wednesday at 03:12 PM Posted Wednesday at 03:12 PM @GunnerBill, if Tre was able to transition to safety would you consider bringing him back? Quote
Beck Water Posted Wednesday at 03:13 PM Posted Wednesday at 03:13 PM (edited) One of the most interesting parts about 10 minutes in. I think there's a feeling the Bills have a state-of-the-art, science driven training program. Tre' is talking about Von Miller coming in from the Rams and saying that the Bills are "the complete opposite of this" (as far as training load, is my understanding). He also talks about how the coaches and staff stress positivity and even on the sideline when they were getting spanked by 'Zona they're still positive and composed. Talks about how McVay is coaching the guys but loving them, always in a positive light. And how they manage the load in training and practice to keep guys healthy in December (year to year though, at a glance I don't see the Rams as particularly healthier or less healthy than any other team) He says some good things to say about the Bills and how they're solid and bring in guys and everybody bought in, "but on the sideline, if we getting spanked, you gonna hear about it". As opposed to the Rams "they coach you hard but love you at the same time". Tre clearly felt there were elements of the Rams coaching that were superior, as far as getting the best out of players in a high stakes situation. Anyway that struck me. 54 minutes ago, GunnerBill said: Not only do I think a fully healthy Tre White makes a difference on that final Chiefs drive in the 13 second game.... Tre was playing at a very high level before the Thanksgiving injury in New Orleans. Quote

If Tre were still on the team, I’d be curious what he would say about the vibes now versus before. I really think with Josh now as one of the unquestioned leaders (no Diggs interference), there is a much more positive vibe altogether. Being positive and resilient is just Josh’s natural style, which does differ from probably McD’s own tendencies in moments of adversity, but it all seems to be really working at the moment. Resiliency is one of the key factors for how the 90s Bills were able to make four Super Bowls in row, and probably why a lot of us Bills fans are so passionate about this franchise and that hope to one day bring home a Lombardi. Even McD is doing snow angels these days and effusively praising Josh’s play, so maybe even he realizes how much Josh’s leadership style is working. Quote

He put some really bad play on tape and I think they took the only offer they were given which was the lowest possible compensation that could be offered . 1 Quote

It’s often been said McVay relates really well to players and his approach is unique to other coaches. It sounds like McDermott is similar to Harbaugh where he “coaches hard but loves you at the same time.” Even Humphrey said he’s “no Mr. positivity on the sideline.” Quote

They gave up White and a 7th to get back a 7th. They pretty much just gave him away for free. Highly doubt other teams (especially losing ones) would’ve been acquiring about Tre, just like I highly doubt the Rams would’ve refused better offers. Edited Wednesday at 03:50 PM by Brand J Quote

Tre was on a truly special path before those injuries… Quote

I don’t think they outright lied to deceive him but maybe framed the situation differently than it was in reality, to keep a positive relationship with a vet player they respect. Beane has done this in the past when releasing a player. He’ll say they were giving them a choice to sign with the team they wanted, rather than deciding for the player via a trade. 1 hour ago, Big Turk said: Tre said he was at home watching and he knew the play they were running to Hill coming out of the timeout and he was screaming at the TV...said he saw it in the Dallas game, it was the same play...said he wished he was out there cause he could have alerted his teammates to what was coming...said he wasn't saying he would have made the play but that he could have at least told them what was coming. I 100% believe this. One of Tre’s underrated strengths is his smarts - especially his knowledge of the position in the McDermott defense Quote
US Egg Posted Wednesday at 04:08 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:08 PM (edited) So Vontae Davis went Kenny Rogers “Gambler”. Can respect that, just should’ve folded when the game was over, not the hand. Edited Wednesday at 04:12 PM by US Egg Quote
eball Posted Wednesday at 04:09 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:09 PM I will always have a soft spot for Tre. He was the first piece in changing the culture of the Bills and represented the team and city spectacularly well, while performing at an exceptional level. He's also funny as hell -- I'll never forget him picking up the pages of the Ravens' play sheets when they blew onto the field. Hilarious. 1 Quote
