They must really like Grable. They could have easily given him the red shirt treatment especially with RVD already on the roster as a steady backup, but they made it a point to activate him.

Yeah, wouldn't be surprised to see Toohill back on the PS. I thought he played well in spot-duty. Granted I wasn't watching him on every snap he took, just noticed him when he made a play.

He played 22.35% of the defensive snaps over 13 games.

He had 14 tackles; 2 TFLs; 1 sack; 1 QB hit; 2 Pressures; 1 batted ball; 1 Pass defended; 1 Fumble Recovery.

Toohill made some plays a few games ago. I'd rather have him than Jefferson, who was sluggish against Detroit.

I think Jefferson was sluggish versus Detroit because he was inactive.

He was bad versus LAR, but they went size and Jordan Phillips versus Detroit.

I feel like the was the plan and then Brown got the stinger/shoulder and I think they want the safety of an extra tackle for the playoff run.

I don’t think Brown will miss time, but now you have that potential for aggravation and missing snaps.  Plus gives them depth for resting people week 18 and get the youth some playing time.

Glad they activated Grable.  Another good looking young tackle prospect.  Don’t have any idea if Kromer has a particular type of guy he wants in the OL room but Beane has built a good group.

It's crazy to say, but it seems like the Bills are loaded at Tackle:

  • Dawkins and Brown have become one of the best combos in the league;
  • Alec Anderson has been money as an extra lineman all year in his limited but significant opportunities;
  • Ryan Van Demark has looked very good;
  • They have gone out of their way to be sure Tylan Grable stays on the team (no PS squad and waiver wire theft  potential);
  • And don't forget Tommy Doyle on IR, who did well in Anderson and Van Demark's roles before he was injured.

It makes sense. But we're getting to a point where it's a tough call as to who to cut to make room even on the Practice Squad. Of our 17 players, 13 of them have been called up at least once or were even on the 53 man roster. It's pretty loaded:

QB Mike White #14
RB Frank Gore Jr. #20
WR Jalen Virgil #89
WR K.J. Hamler #19
WR Tyrell Shavers #80
TE Zach Davidson #84
OL Will Clapp #61
OT Richard Gouraige #75
OL Mike Edwards #65
DE Kingsley Jonathan #59
DT Eli Ankou #51
DT Zion Logue #93
CB Daequan Hardy #25
CB Te'Cory Couch #33
S Micah Hyde #23
S Lewis Cine #36
S Kareem Jackson #27

Kromer doesn't have a "particular type of guy he wants...". It's been made quite clear that he is an expert crafting custom linemen, using a player's specific strengths to make him great. He does not try to shove every player into a standard mold.

Not quite true, he likes length and athleticism. Even Torrence, who doesn't necessarily meet the athletic profile you usually think of for a Kromer guard is 6'5 and has just a shade under 34 inch arms which are both in the top few percentile for the position. Our interior OL are 6'6, 6'5, 6'5. I'm guessing that is one of the taller interior groups in the league.

Activated OL Tylan Grable from Injured Reserve.
Released DE Casey Toohill.

Signed WR Jalen Virgil to the practice squad.

Signed OL Will Clapp to the practice squad.

Released DE Kameron Cline from the practice squad.

Released DT Branson Deen from the practice squad.

I'm glad to see Clapp, Virgil re-signed. Okay with Toohill and Cline being released. I'd rather have the big boys in the middle. Have more than enough DEs currently on the roster

Maybe to keep him away from KC?? Anybody has to be better than what they have currently 😎

Thanks, I must have been thinking of the Rams game. On two occasions, a runner went past Jefferson where a more athletic player would have disengaged and made the tackles. We need us a Montez Sweat-type player.

We have a higher graded version of Sweat in Groot.

About time too.

Protect the franchise !

 But yes , the whole offense looks better cuz O line and Kromer/Brady

They must really like Zion logue. That's good for our future

Had to release one of the 6 veteran PS spots so out of Clapp, White, Hyde, Jackson, Hamler or Ankou.

Is it hyperbole to say that Spencer Brown is the best offensive lineman in the NFL?

I think he's more Athletic than Sewell and just as dominant a run blocker.

i actually don’t love this. Ankou has been great for us over the years when called upon.

I mean I guess. We have 7 dts, 8 if you include Smoot who can play both. Epenesa also played some DT at iowa

Groot can be moved inside also to give him some advantageous matchups at times as well.
