You implied that he’s been on the injury report for his foot. That hasn’t the been the case since October. He has been on and off the injury report for a number of different injuries though, yes. Richard Noggin Posted Friday at 05:14 AM Posted Friday at 05:14 AM Felt to this observer that early on in the season, Samuel's targets (when on the field) were VERY obvious/predictable screens and targets close to the LOS. Defenses seemed to really key on him. Looked a lot like the attempted early usage of Hardy the year before. Which also didn't work. Both guys were downhill keys for opposing defenses. Before the Bills had this more fully developed, 2024 diversified offense (with both gap and zone running success, and both horizontal and vertical passing success), certain players and personnel packages had predictable and attackable tendencies. Against Detroit, Samuel's only target/catch that I recall (right to left near the far side of the goal line) was an intermediate route (unless I'm an idiot). More of that usage, which he's capable of, could potentially open up the motion and sweep and screen stuff. *he got banged up on that impressive-ish catch down by the goal line, innit? 1 Quote

I will tell you what I do know... please stop throwing passes to him at or behind the line of scrimmage... they dont work... lol 100%....if you are going to use him sparingly, at least have the decency to give him a couple 15-20 yard targets. Rather than waste everyone's time with these useless LOS plays. 1 1 Quote
Thrivefourfive Posted Friday at 07:13 AM Posted Friday at 07:13 AM Too much on Brady and Josh’s plate? The two WRs last year didn’t work either. But Samuel should be a solid WR2/3 with Coleman right now. Be nice if these guys were more plug n pay like they were in the Brady and Manning offenses. Patriots did do a lot of offensive philosophy adjusting though based on personal. I remember thinking the Patriots got scary when Dillon ran really well for them, completely shifting who they were on offense. Brady is dealing with Kincaid too. He’s just not the player yet. Hype. I think Brady is finding ~Let’s ditch some gadgets for some December football. I like that a lot better too. Quote
Straight Hucklebuck Posted Friday at 08:23 AM Posted Friday at 08:23 AM I don’t buy the lingering injury excuse causing him to lose speed. He was on the field in Detroit and ran the deep over to drag coverage away from underneath stuff - JT O’Sullivan showed this and so did Joe Marino on the All-22. I think the real reason is at the beginning of the season they viewed him as a gadget player and only ran gimmick bubble screens and flare routes to him. You saw when they had to use him in Indianapolis and home to KC that he could actually run a route down the field. 1 Quote
