If he plays through a high ankle sprain without sitting, everyone will say he’s battling through an injury if he loses in the playoffs and he would’ve won if healthy. So I don’t think you’re gonna get what you’re looking for regardless now 😂

Yea it’s worth a shot vs Houston…if wentz looks really bad I’d probably panic a bit and rush him back.  Close loss makes the decision really interesting if I’d rush him back for pit 

 

really a lot hinges on the Baltimore pit game this week.  If pit finds a way to win that one idk if I’d even want to be the 1 seed 😂. Divisional against the ravens then likely afc champ against kc/buf (depending on who’s perspective you’re lookin from) seems like a tougher road to me.  Sitting a dinged up mahomes seems worth it if it avoids Baltimore in round 2.

Bigger picture for any team who’s in that situation with that schedule… if the injury is indeed as reported, he’s not playing both games in a 4 day window well. 
 

Wentz this first game then Mahomes Christmas Day against Pittsburgh if need be. 
 

Whilst I hope they don’t lol, giving Mahomes the extra rest whilst having a litmus test for Wentz and the team is the smarter scenario for them

Yep. Playing Saturday Wednesday on a bum ankle would be reckless in the extreme. If it was the Bills I would 100% want them to sit him v Houston and see how he is by Pittsburgh.

Yep, first half Mahomes will be limping around and playing it up and then miraculously he'll be sprinting around doing an Irish jig or a pleasant polka waltz.

I don't think the # 1 seed matters anyways. Chiefs will lose their first playoff game. Buffalo at the #2 seed will have home field for the entirety of the playoffs.

 Winning 3 games is easier than winning 4 is why it matters.  One fewer chance for a marginal team to win a fluke game like the Rams did.

Our second Super Bowl run can be nail biters the whole way through. Sure. Our first Super Bowl run can be against mostly PS players called up for injury for all I care. Just get one any which way and all the pressure will be off the organization for the rest of Allen's career. Mahomes getting his first one has made everything since then so much easier.
