LABILLBACKER Posted December 17 Posted December 17 They should fear sitting him. They've been sneaking by close games with luck, Mahomes and superior coaching. And as @Rocbillsfan1 just accurately said, you can't believe anything they say. I hope it is a more serious high ankle and they're dumb enough to play him v Houston? Lots of speculation and misinformation/smoke screens to sift thru? Quote
Unforgiven Posted December 17 Posted December 17 he's going to play, he's just trying to create a hype ish mystique to surround his third bowl. 1 1 Quote

And if that goes well you can probably sit him for the next 3 weeks if you want. if you drop one to Houston and panic a bit you can rush mahomes back against pit Would be ironic (?) if Wentz came in and was a hero of a KC playoff run after Philly won the SB with Big D*** Nick instead of him 1 Quote

It is not. This injury is more serious. And yet, the Chiefs are reluctant to announce they'll sit Mahomes. They will maintain their pursuit of the one-seed is the reason. But the real reason the Chiefs fear sitting Mahomes is exposing to the league precisely what they are without him. KC has developed a mystique in its dynasty. This mystique keeps them atop power rankings. With the preponderance of one-score games won, this mystique gives the impression that KC pours out just enough rocket sauce to win...but has vast stores of it when needed. We hear how great the team is, with Mahomes having a rather low to middling season, yet so many wins. We constantly hear how the Bills are carried by JA17 and would be mediocre or less without him. Well, that's correct as it's a QB league. I submit KC has been carried by Mahomes and his absence will demonstrate how average the team actually is. And that's the last thing the mystique-riding Chefs want to become public. A Buffalo Bills Public Service Announcement Actually disagree with this. Mahomes hasn't remotely carried KC in the way JA17 has. It's been the Defense and magic fairy dust. That said, Mahomes not playing would definitely hurt the Chiefs in their final 3 games... all against playoff teams. 3 1 Quote

I think they'll still be very good with Wentz in there. Just like when Mahomes got knocked out of a game in the playoffs (against the Browns?) and Henne went in and immediately led them 90 yards up the field for the TD. Mahomes couldn't wait to get back in and part of me thought it was because he didn't want people to see their offense still humming without his genius on the field. I'm not saying they'll be as good if he misses time but I think they'll be very close to what they've been the past two seasons Quote

So... In the same thread it is professed and embraced that Mahomes is not as injured as people think and still able to be highly successful you think he did his best....while barely skating by...which leads me to a question. Do you and Collinsworth just take turns until one of you gets tired? Either way... reality and face it: the game where Mahomes outplays Allen will be the first in 4 years. 1 Quote
WinterSoldier17 Posted December 17 Posted December 17 This is the year ladies and gentlemen, this is the year we put our foot on his throat and brusquely squeeze out the Tay-Tay magic and Reid food crumbs. 1 Quote
QLBillsFan Posted December 17 Posted December 17 Well Patty was complaining about 3 games in 11 days!! I actually think CW will outplay what we have seen from PM so far this year. He’s not been good. Quote

Logic Posted December 17 Posted December 17 It's nothing more than Patty's annual melodramatic exaggerated/fake limp. Seems like it happens late in the season every year. Analysts breathlessly speculate on "what it means for the Chiefs" and gets the 24-hour sports news cycle in a tizzy, then lo and behold, he plays the very next week and looks just fine. Maybe limp-hops after a touchdown pass or two. Lather, rinse, repeat. Wake me when they amputate something. 1 Quote

NickelCity Posted December 17 Posted December 17 Manufactured nonsense. He does this crap all the time. Quote

Frankly, I'm shocked that it's not more serious than they're claiming. And if it were manufactured, why would he downplay the severity publicly? Quote

Mahomes has been whatever in most of their games. Polite disagreement. He hasn't been himself throughout games but when they needed a drive they've been able to get it, and that's because of Mahomes. 1 Quote
