PoundingDog Posted December 17 Posted December 17 There are 12 D-Linemen on the roster. They did that by squeezing out a safety (Rapp, Hamlin, Bishop on rsoter) and kind of leveraging Cam Lewis to be backup nickel and safety. Yesterday it was getting close where they had to rely on a practice guy to play every down at safety. Already they have to inactivate a CB on game date for a few weeks as well. They activate 10 D-Lineman every game and simply throw guys out there to see which one sticks for a particular game. Not sure it is a sound strategy going forward, espectially in the playoff. Maybe it speaks volume of their dis-satisfaction at talent on D-Line. Quote
gonzo1105 Posted December 17 Posted December 17 Grable will replace one of the Dlineman this week most likely Phillips or Jefferson. I don’t see them moving a Safety up until Hyde is fully acclimated and ready to contribute 1 1 Quote

They can keep him on PS and still use him in every remaining game if they want. Edited December 17 by YattaOkasan 3 Quote

JP51 Posted December 17 Posted December 17 (edited) Looks like a game time Temp of about 14 degrees... with some wind... my gut tells me that they are going to be looking to shore up the run Defense in prep for a heavy dose of the running game and might take their chances a bit in the secondary... They may even allow folks that might be able to play in the secondary but who are banged up sit this week which also means they might bring Hyde in as an active reserve player incase needed. Just a gut feeling... I guess we find out in a few days... Edited December 17 by JP51 Quote
dpberr Posted December 17 Posted December 17 This is a game where in addition to Dewayne Carter, I'd give Zion Logue and/or Branson Deen playing time to see what they've got at DT. Need fresh legs at DT. I don't think Jones/Phillips/Jefferson provides much. 1 Quote
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower Posted December 17 Posted December 17 Austin Jefferson does nothing for me Quote

Should note that while we wanted more from DL in the Rams game, DL showed up against a top 5 OL this past weekend. I definitely think Jones/Phillips/Jefferson >> Carter/Logue/Deen. Sorta surprised you left Eli Ankou off your list. He has more run stuffing upside than any of the other named players (though Ankou has like no pass rush upside). Quote

BearNorth Posted December 17 Posted December 17 Yeah Cine as a Big Nickel/Fast LB to counter Stevenson, although the Pats O-Line except for Onwenu is hot garbage. 1 Quote

Logue was a net zero in his snaps. He had a chance- but he wasn’t good enough and was replaced by better players. 3 Quote
Kelly to Allen Posted December 17 Posted December 17 Getting back solid tackle depth is extremely underrated. Grable being healthy is important. Glad he's back. I hope they put clapp on the ps too Quote

(I'd rather face the Ravens with a rested, relatively uninjured Daquan Jones.) Edited December 17 by dpberr Quote

I am not a doctor I dont claim to play one on TV LOL.. and I have no idea the severity of the injuries th the DBs... I am thinking thought that they will error on the side of caution when it comes to putting them back in.... Quote
