Anyone else want to keep seeing Elam and Bishop on the field after yesterday?

From my vantage point, I was sorta kinda focusing on Elam all game, and he gave underneath cushions. He was not going to get beat deep. So Detroit when they threw to his side, they threw to what Elam was giving them. He was solid on all his tackles.

I didn’t think it was a strong push. Elam didn’t react like it was a push.

LaPorta and St. Brown put up 304 yards between the 2 of them. He was mostly matched up with Tim Patrick and Williams

Yeah. I thought he played softer than he normally does in his coverage. 
 

But I guess that’s what they want him to be.

Name a DB on the Bills that hasn’t been worked the last 2 weeks?  This zone scheme with minimal upfront pressure has been disastererous against good QBs.

Bishop is the New Kid.

Elam is his own story.

Kair looked pretty decent sunday. Starter decent.

 Douglas need to get healthy or whatever. Give him a sunday off

DL has been a problem. Even though they played better vs Detroit they aren’t good enough. They let Goff of all people make plays. He’s a statue.

 

They moved him, but didn’t finish the job.

Why does Elam look penalty prone and undisciplined after 3 years? The coachs share responsibility along with Beane for not trading him while he had 1st rd draft choice value.

Hard to say we only see pieces of a play who is completely responsible for what coverage. Over all our secondary had remarkably similar results to the secondary that got torched by the Rams no matter who is out there they need to improve they literally don't look like they can stop anyone. 3rd and 7 is a gimmie the last several weeks that ain't gonna get it done in the playoffs

most of our secondary ran right at 4.6    rapp was the defensive version of coleman at 4.78

 

kair ran 4.39 and cole ran 4.45.

From what I could see on Elam he played a solid game.  Looked really solid in man on a couple of occasions (also a couple missteps, but that’s expected).  Bishop is a solid backup but he doesn’t seem ready for the big show yet.  I think he’s your starting safety next year but he’s not ready yet.

Not saying we sit Rapp, Hamlin, Douglas. Just that if any of them is not 100%, we play the kids. We should still win even if a mistake or two is made.

 

The last thing I want is like last year's playoff game where a clearly not healthy Douglas played over Elam.

I've actually been encouraged by what I've seen from Bishop.  He looked a lot better yesterday than he did against Houston, and you always have to remember that he was injured for most of camp.

 

I'd still be nervous relying on him in the playoffs, but I could see him make a big jump in year two. Hopefully he also learns a few tricks from Hyde.

I think bishop needs to play a ton this month 

 

I think Elam should get as many reps as rasul needs to cede to heal. No rush back. 
 

bishop getting seasoned to start full time in the playoffs while Douglas gets full healthy and Elam gets some time in case of emergency would be ideal

I thought Bishop was consistently slow to react. He has nice speed and size, and he closes really well, but he seemed to break late on many plays. Cam Lewis is the opposite. He seems to really understand the defense, and he wins by recognizing and reacting really well, which makes up his lack of outstanding speed. I can't say I remember what Lewis looked like his first couple of years in the league.  At least, that's how the two look to me.

from my perspective Lewis plays hard but he's only 5'9 and everytime i seen him sunday he was on the wrong end of a bad play.  getting juked or falling down or both.

He gets to the play well but after that its not very spectacular.
