TheWeatherMan Posted Tuesday at 01:22 PM Posted Tuesday at 01:22 PM Brilliant game plan for sure. My only critique would be to run the GD ball with 1st and goal from the one. Josh is like 24/25 on QB sneaks needing a yard. The holding, false start, missed FG was an awful turn of events. Quote

We ate them alive with RB, slot WR and TE catches then added the run. Later in the game we got the WR's on the outside involved. Just a brilliant gameplan. I give you props and kudos for not saying give him his "flowers" in the title. 1 1 Quote
The 9 Isles Posted Tuesday at 02:45 PM Posted Tuesday at 02:45 PM Joe Brady sucks, he needs at least 4 or 5 more years as an OC before he can be considered ready to take a HC position. 🫣 2 Quote

I'm not saying that's what I would do. I'd go and get Vrabel if I were the Bengals owner. I'm saying if Burrow wants Brady the owenership will get Brady. He won't be super expensive Quote

Why would Burrow want that? That Offense is almost unstoppable Quote

Taylor has Burrow having a career year--so again, why would he prefer Brady right now? What is Burrow not getting (other than adequate Defense, which Brady wouldn't help with) Offensively from Taylor that he would get from Brady. This is a top 5 scoring Offense--the best they have been since Burrow got there. Quote

First of all, he took the Bengals to the SB. Secondly, and most importantly, he's under contract for 4.5 million per year until the end of the 2026 season. Mike Brown would NEVER pay someone 9 million to not work for him. Brown is very slow to pull that trigger, he doesn't like to pay 2 HC salaries. He kept Marvin Lewis around for over a decade. 1 Quote

If Burrow wants Taylor gone, he will be gone. If Allen wants McDermott gone he'll be gone. I don't know what's going through Burrow's head just like you don't. His career year is him having a 6 win team 14 weeks through. Quote

MikePJ76 Posted Wednesday at 01:12 AM Posted Wednesday at 01:12 AM It’s not just Brady imo. The bills offensive staff is very good and new qb coach Ronald curry, wr coach Adam Henry and long time coaches rod boras and rb coach Kenny skipper I imagine have had a big hand in this seasons results. Then of of course Aaron Kromer is excellent and among the best in the league. i don’t feel like the coaching staff was that great last year but with some minor changes they seem to be excellent this year. 1 Quote

Saying, basically, that any top franchise QB can get his HC fired at will isn't a compelling argument in this case. Wouldn't Burrow be better off advocating for his DC's firing/replacement? Quote

Did he force Burrow to throw 2 picks and lose a fumble Sunday (against a terrible Titans D)? Brady is a HC candidate only because of Josh Allen right. I mean Dorsey had them at #2 in scoring in 2022 and so did Daboll in 2020 (and #3 in 2021). How has that worked out for those 2? Also, if your GM dumps the HC simply because the QB wants his buddy to take over...then you need a new GM. Quote

I forecast all this two years ago. To be a consistent contender now in the NFL you need an elite QB, good talent evaluators and an owner willing to write cheques each spring to create cap space. Mike Brown was never gonna do that and as such they've let key pieces on D walk. I also think their DC is massively overrated on the basis of that one brilliant playoff adjustment against Mahomes. Which was, no question, an exceptional piece of in-game adjustment but his overall record is sketchy. That said, Burrow wanting Brady is something I absolutely can see. Not for any reason other than he is his guy. 1 Quote
WideNine Posted Wednesday at 08:20 PM Posted Wednesday at 08:20 PM (edited) Yes and well-deserved. He took the heat for that strange gadget play that blew up earlier this season and took it on the chin. A well-timed OP as he deserves so much credit for melding this offense together with so many serviceable players with very different skill sets and getting the results of having effective game plans, execution, and adjustments. Allen has grown so much under him using motion and other keys to recognize coverages, calling out protections, and playing more within the structure of the offense. Playing within the structure more and being balanced with calling runs, he has limited the toll on Allen's body by limiting the necessity of QB runs and having to do so much off schedule. And he and Kromer are in great lock-step on both pass pro, and our run blocking schemes that they keep Allen clean and we have a highly effective run game that teams have to account for. I think there is more meat on the bone as I think we had the ball within the 5 twice and came up empty vs Detroit. Crazy to think that if we had those we would have been closing in on 60 points. Even Josh said as much in his presser after the game, that it may sound silly with the score they had, but they left some points on the field and that bothered him. Our offense needs to stay hungry like that as I feel our path to winning is going to be simply scoring first and scoring more than our opponents as our defense is not quite as dominant this season keeping teams off the scoreboard, but they have been opportunistic. Brady is doing a great job. Edited Wednesday at 08:52 PM by WideNine Quote
