I'm guessing you thought he was only in Carolina for part of 1 season instead of a season and half. That's not an inconsequential amount of games as an NFL OC for a 35 year old HC candidate. Brady may well have his choice of multiple HC vacancies. I think it was pretty obvious that he had that Lions game circled all season as his own personal matchup against everyone's #1 HC candidate Ben Johnson. He proved he wasn't outclassed as a play caller, at least. Yesterday was a negative turn of events for New Orleans or anyone else who was looking at Brady but doesn't have a franchise QB or one of the top 2 picks in this draft. You still think Dorsey is better than Brady? Quote
Returntoglory Posted December 17 Posted December 17 The consensus is that Andy Reed is the NFL's Preeminent Offensive Guru. He has taken the talent that Pat Mahomes possesses and along with his scheming, has elevated Pat and is given much credit for the three SuperBowl victories. With the advent of Joe Brady taking the helm, Josh has been playing his best ball EVER. Reaching levels never before seen in the NFL. Has Josh now found his, Andy Reed? Does Beane take Joe in to his office, lock the door behind him, and then make Joe an offer he can't refuse, to keep the continuity we have between Josh and Joe? I say yes. Joe must stay at all costs. Maynard Posted December 17 Posted December 17 Doesn’t work that way. Brady will be off for a HC gig, if he gets the opportunity. Need to pump the brakes hard on the Reid comparison as well. Quote
Warcodered Posted December 17 Posted December 17 He's the OC the HC has to do a whole lot of other things as well. I mean hell McDermott just tied that record for 11 wins seasons, 5 back to back division winners, but sure lets just flush it and roll the dice. People are so obsessed with the one thing that they completely ignore how difficult even being as good as we are is let alone that. Quote

Yes, you read that correctly. The D was a mess and falling apart and the FO parts ways with the OC.........wait........what?!? Of course, it's all rainbows and butterflies now cause the O is rolling, but you don't think that notion has crossed through Brady's mind once or twice if our O starts to dwindle in production? If i were Brady, i'd stay with the Bills as long as possible, however, i would also be making a backup plan, just in case. This post shows that you never even watched that game. The D was not a mess and falling apart at that time. They lost that game to Denver 22-24 even with Buffalo committing 4 turnovers that resulted in 9 of the points. After that game the Bills D was averaging giving up only 18.4 points a game, even after the offense had turned the ball over 14 times in only 10 games. Doresy was let go because the Bills running game couldn't be stopped in the game against Denver, and he refused to take advantage of that. They had 26 rushes for 192 yards averaging 7.4 yards per carry, while the passing game was 15 of 26 for 177 yards with 2 INT's while only averaging 6.8 yards per attempt. What Offensive coordinator only runs the ball 26 times while averaging 7.4 yards a carry? A coordinator who deserved to get fired. The Bronco's couldn't stop the run game, only incompletions and interceptions, caused the drives to end. He should've run the ball until Cook and Murry were puking or finally stopped. Josh Allen was not having a good day, he is human. He was 15/26, 177 yards 1 TD and 2 INTS. That to me doesn't sound like it was the Defenses fault. Turnovers and lack of taking advantage of a weak run defense was why that game was lost and ultimately leading to Dorsey's demise. Edited December 17 by OldNMBillsFan Quote

It's 3rd and goal near the one. Josh Allen is your QB and you can salt the game away and you put Josh in the shotgun. Dumb! It was a OC out-smarting himself. If you wanted to get creative, lineup for the tush push and have Josh bootleg. Better yet go big, and let Davis or Josh run behind Anderson and Knox. 3 hours ago, Steptide said: Brady has done a pretty stellar job, but I'm not ready to crown him just yet. I hate how they handled the end of the first half yesterday. 2 seconds left, and they throw a short pass to Shakir. Why not attempt a fg or hail Mary there? While neither were likely to result in points, a short pass to Shakir just seemed like a wasted opportunity Joe Brady will be judged on the entire body of his work, not by 1 or 2 possessions. 5 hours ago, Simon said: I think he's even younger than Von Miller. Hey, I'm not promising Brady is going to be a good HC. But he's likely to be one next season. If a team was really doing a DEEP dive into Brady........they'd be wise to look into his history in perceived McDermott mistakes at the end of big games. Brady's second and 9 call after the 2 minute warning of the divisional loss to the Chiefs last year was one of the most inexplicably stupid calls in a big moment that I've seen. And his decision to try to tush push with 1 minute left against the Rams last week was flat out stupid. And conversely, his decision to NOT tush push from the 1 on 3rd down before the half yesterday cost the team 7 points and kept Detroit in it. I think the first and third instances were both examples of an ambitious young HC trying to put a big play on his audition tape when it was NOT in the best interest of the team to do so. But regardless of why, all 3 were very bad decisions in key moments of big games. But the reality is that teams don't tend to dig that deep. Just watch the Giants offseason "Hard Knocks". They were literally looking up stats on pro-football reference to decide on free agents. We think teams do a lot more in-depth work than they usually do. It will be a surprise to them when he does something inexplicable in these situations the first time as a HC. 1 Quote

gonzo1105 Posted December 17 Posted December 17 I'd like to hold onto him for another year if possible. I guess it really depends on how many jobs are out there to be had. We all know some names out there that are likely to get one: Ben Johnson Mike Vrabel Todd Monken will be up for jobs Liam Coen is a name that people have to know he worked with McVay and is with TB right now as their OC that is pretty good Joe Brady Aaron Glenn Do other retreads get an opportunity due to their coordinator success: Vance Joseph Vic Fangio Brian Flores Either way I'd say its not a strong group. I think its Johnson, Vrabel, Coen and then a tier below including Brady. He has some natural connections to New Orleans obviously, theres rumors the Bears have been doing some work on Brady, and obviously Cincinnati if their job becomes available. Quote

I feel like Brady will be offered that NO job because of his ability, familiarity and connections to Sean Payton. But, I will say that it would make sense for him to hang around Allen for a couple of more years and drive up the price for his services. The truth is that he has bounced around the league for awhile now and he was in the Trash heap after his time in Carolina. He is doing a tremendous job here. I could see him going the Ben Johnson way and being picky about opportunities out there. I hope he stays. 1 Quote
