Kirby Jackson Posted Monday at 04:03 PM Posted Monday at 04:03 PM (edited) We are doing this. Who is the best player that the Bills have ever had? Go on record. You can make a case for any of the 3. The “someone else” answer is not reasonable but there for the people who choose to be wrong. The Bills have had great players but there are 3 options as to the “best.” Edited Monday at 04:04 PM by Kirby Jackson 3 1 Quote
Jauronimo Posted Monday at 04:07 PM Posted Monday at 04:07 PM Josh gets the nod because QB is so much more important than RB and DE in the modern game. If you are starting a franchise and get to select one player, its not even a decision. 5 3 1 Quote

boyst Posted Monday at 04:11 PM Posted Monday at 04:11 PM It's Bruce Smith. Josh needs to lose 4 consecutive Super Bowls to catch up to Bruce. 2 1 1 1 3 13 1 2 Quote

QB Bills Posted Monday at 04:13 PM Posted Monday at 04:13 PM Bruce Smith has a case for being the best defensive player to ever play the game. So he gets my vote. But as noted above, the QB position is just that much more important to the sport that if you did a draft of all-time Bills to start a franchise, Josh would easily go first. 1 Quote

TrentEdwardsCheckDownOn4th Posted Monday at 04:14 PM Posted Monday at 04:14 PM I'm sorry but Jim Kelly should make this list before OJ. QB position is so much more valuable. Jim Kelly was magnitudes more valuable to this franchise than OJ and it was for a longer period of time. But to answer your question, my choice is Josh Allen and If he wins a super bowl this year it won't even be close anymore. 1 Quote
davefan66 Posted Monday at 04:15 PM Posted Monday at 04:15 PM Have to say Bruce. Man was a menace when he played…bad things man…baaaad things! Josh is a QB unicorn, and is probably considered by most to be the best ever Buffalo Bill. I have to base my answer off a complete career by Bruce with all that he achieved. Best pure talent? Josh hands down. 1 Quote
C.Biscuit97 Posted Monday at 04:16 PM Posted Monday at 04:16 PM Insane that Josh has ever made it a conversation. In terms of position value, it might have to be Josh. But what Bruce did as a 3-4 DE with what I remember as not a great DC in a league that had way less pass attempts is absolutely insane. Crazy part is if you could magically have prime Allen and Smith together, we would have won multiple SBs. 1 Quote
DrDawkinstein Posted Monday at 04:16 PM Posted Monday at 04:16 PM I think Josh gets the nod for "Best Player" because he is asked to do so much more as a QB than any DE was ever asked to do. He has the ball in his hands and is making plays non stop. Bruce was great, dont want to diminish him at all. But he was able to take plenty of plays off and still look good. Josh doesnt have that luxury. 1 4 1 Quote
Ethan in Cleveland Posted Monday at 04:21 PM Posted Monday at 04:21 PM It's still Bruce for me. He is in the conversation for best defensive player of all time with LT, Reggie White, Deion Sanders, Ronnie Lott, and Ed Reed. Josh has a few more seasons of greatness before he is considered a top 10 let alone top 5 all time QB. Talent wise he is as good as any QB to ever play. But to be the greatest he needs more post season success. 2 1 Quote

lookylookyherecomescookie Posted Monday at 04:22 PM Posted Monday at 04:22 PM I've been fortunate to see all 3 play. 1. OJ was an incredible runner who could take over a game, even if the other team keyed on him. 2. Bruce was one of the best passer rushing DE ever, who could totally disrupt an opposing team's offense. 3. Josh is clearly the best passer the Bills have ever had. In addition, the best running QB. In addition, one of the best leaders the team has ever had. Josh can will the team to victory. As good as the other two were, they were only great at one thing. Josh is great in multiple ways. Josh hands down. 1 2 1 Quote

Josh is officially crossing the line from “awesome in his era” to even without a SB is a first ballot HoF player. While Bruce is almost universally considered a top 5 pass rusher ever, and Allen isn’t a top 5 QB ever (yet) the positional importance at least gets him close if not above Bruce. Quote

He's closer to 20-25. OJ is still in the conversation for top 10 and possibly top 5 RB of all time. If you are talking Mount Rushmore of Bills players it's, Bruce, Allen, OJ, and Thurman Thomas in that order for me. 1 1 2 Quote
MPL Posted Monday at 04:27 PM Posted Monday at 04:27 PM I think Josh Allen might actually be the greatest all-around football player ever. 2 2 Quote
chongli Posted Monday at 04:27 PM Posted Monday at 04:27 PM I think it is premature to include Josh. Right now it is OJ. 2 2 Quote
