If MVP voters want to contradict themselves after how they voted last year, that’s their prerogative. Lamar had 29 total TD last year to Josh’s 44. Josh also had like 500 more yards of total offense. 
 

Lamar won because his team was the higher seed, and his stats were good enough, plain and simple. 
 

The Ravens might not even win their division this year, their signature win so far is against Buffalo over 10 weeks ago. Unless Josh absolutely implodes down the stretch, they’ll be completely contradicting themselves.

The Chiefs last 3 games aren't a walk in the park if i remember correctly and now that Patty is hurt winning 2 of the last 3 is not a given, I also can see the Ravens getting beat in both of their remaining games the Steelers will be pissed for losing yesterday & Houston is playing pretty good too .

 

I think the Bills will win out unless they sit their starters in a couple of the last 3 so the #1 seed is not out of the question but i'm only a fan and don't follow it as close as you do .

Their not going to sit their starters for two weeks before the playoffs. Limited reps, playing a half I can see but flat out sitting Allen and Company for two weeks I can't see even if they have it locked up.

Stats matter to a degree for MVP, but what really decides it is narrative and what the media is saying.  Listen to the media today.  It's not close.  He would need to do something egregious like throw 6 picks in a loss to the Pats.  It's Allen's to lose right now and in terms of playing he is in what is known as "a Costanza situation." Being at work can only hurt his chances.

I would predict Baltimore will beat the Steelers and I don’t see Houston beating KC in Arrowhead this week. However, I don’t think KC beats Pittsburgh.  Denver will certainly want to beat KC in Denver in week 17. If KC wins all three games in 11 days then I’ll tip my cap to them. 

 

Bills need to take care of business, execute and put NE and the Jets away early. The #1 seed is very much in play.

Well the positive is that if #2 and #3 happen, then we will either gain at least a game on KC by the time we host the Jests, or we’ll know that we’re locked in as the 2 seed.  Exciting position to be in, either way.

True but this year does feel a little different. Their offense hasn't looked all that great this year. It seems like Mahomes has thrown more INT's this season. I get that they are the defending champs and get the benefit of the doubt. But this doesn't feel like their year. IMHO. I think the AFC will come down to the Bills or Ravens.

The Chiefs will be hard pressed to win 2 of 3 against the Texans, Steelers and Broncos. Unfortunately the Bills will have to run the table because this year, the bye and home field throughout will help get us healthy. I see the Chiefs losing 2of 3  especially if Mahomes doesn’t play.

I know right ! Its so exciting!

 

I was thinking about a scenario yesterday where Houston finishes #3. They hold tiebreakers over Pittsburgh and Baltimore and still play Baltimore so its entirely possible they sneak into the #3 seed. In which case I think id actually prefer the #2 seed over the #1 seed! 

Imagine a scenario where the Bills play home vs. the Chargers in the wild card round and then face Houston in the Divisional round at home. Versus the #1 seed Chiefs potential path of playing Baltimore at home , assuming Baltimore upsets whoever they face in the wild card round.
 

My Ideal standings :

#1 ) Kansas City
#2) Buffalo
#3) Houston
#4) Pittsburgh
#5) Baltimore
#6) Denver
#7) Los Angeles

That's fine but for the Bills to finish at 12 - 5 we would have to go 1 - 2 against two teams with a combined w/l record of 7 - 21 and with 2 of the games played at home.  That ain't happening in this or any other universe.

The Houston game is a bit iffy because Houston has clinched. But otherwise Pittsburgh and Denver will almost certainly have something to play for and KC will get their best shots. 

 

Mahomes missing this week and losing to Houston sets the Bills up nicely. I think Pittsburgh can beat KC at home with or without Mahomes.
